ABSTRACT
Even in today's challenging market, international opportunities for design consultants continue to be almost unlimited. Also unlimited, however, are the opportunities to lose vast sums of money chasing projects inappropriately, or chasing inappropriate projects. The paper reviews, from a lawyer's perspective, practical experience gained during the marketing and contract negotiations for three projects in Scandanavia, Russia, and Indonesia.
The paper offers some general principles for developing a structured marketing approach which may minimize risk while maximizing the opportunity for profit.
