MN EDUCATION CREDIT  ITEMS

INCOMES UNDER $37,500, DEDUCTED IN YEAR PAID

 1. Tutoring (qualified instructor)
 2. Fee for after school enrichment programs such as science
     and study habits courses
 3. Tuition for summer camps that are primarily academic in
     focus such as language or fine arts camps
 4. Music Lessons (qualified instructor)
 5. Instructor fees for drivers education if the school that your
     child attends offers drivers education (Does not matter
     where it is taken)
 6. Nonreligious academic books and materials purchased for
     use during the regular public, private or qualified home
     school day
 7. Rental of musical instrument, educational equipment &
     calculators used for regular school music classes (not
     marching bands)
 8. Transportation--Fees paid to others for transportation to/from
     school or for field trips during the normal school day (MN,
     IA, ND, SD, WI)
 9. Home computer hardware, educational software (not games)
     up to $200 as credit and an additional $200 as a subtraction
10. Clothing required for physical education classes (NOT
     uniforms)
11. Entrance fees to exhibits
12. Instructional portion of expenses paid for class trips taken
     during the normal school day (not meals or lodging)
13. Fees paid for your childs after school instruction including
     tuition paid for a qualifying all day public school kindergarten
     if academic in nature (including fine and performing arts)
     and taught by qualifying instructor.


LINE 4 SUBTRACTION DEDUCTIONS ONLY (not a cash credit)
14. Tuition paid for college courses that satisfy HS graduation
     requirements
15. Private school tuition
16. Computer hardware and educational software maximum
     $200 for subtraction and $200 for a credit (if income
     qualifies)--Software purchased to access the internet but
     not monthly service providers--NOT AOL, MSN
