Packages sold by unscrupulous telemarketers often have hidden charges that end up costing you more money than you want to spend for your vacation. Make sure you know what the total package price is for your vacation, before you have them put it on your credit card. Make sure you know exactly what you are paying for.
HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF -One tip off to a scam,is a extremely low price. Not many businesses can afford to nearly give something away. By substantially undercutting everyone else's prices. Don't let yourself be pressured into buying. Generally a good offer will last for a few days or weeks. Most good businesses don't expect you to decide on buying right away. In the case of discounted travel. Usually your price will be locked in for 24 to 48 hours after you call. Some cruise lines and hotel destinations will change prices overnight. A good agency will lock that price in for you if possible. So when you wait to long to decide, you could find the prices have gone up or down in some cases.
ASK QUESTIONS- Don't be afraid to ask questions. A good agent will be happy to answer any of your questions and will even make suggestions in some cases. Make sure you know what the cancellation policies are for the cruise line or hotel you are dealing with. Most good agencies will have this information on your billing statement. Most of the time it is listed in the back of the brochure. Make sure you understand them. If in doubt, ask the agency to explain. If you can't get all your questions answered or even most of them answered. This isn't the deal for you!
IF IN DOUBT JUST SAY NO !
