Cough-Buddy is a specially designed pillow to help patients cough and deep breath after open heart, thoracic or abdominal surgery. Physicians and respiratory practitioners suggest performing both of these procedures in order to mobilize and prevent or treat atelectosis (callapsed lung).
The Cough-Buddy works well in the treatment of such afflictions as: pneumonia, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, pneumothorax, flail chest, and cystic fibrosis. Use it during any cough or deep-breathing exercises for increased effectiveness.
