Preparation by Mail Instructions
Thank you for choosing Tax Reducers for your tax preparation needs. We've been doing taxes through the mail for years. This document will tell you how it works.
Look over our selected price list to acquaint yourself with our pricing procedures. Note that we will provide you with a firm quote before proceeding with any work (see item 6 below).
Here's what YOU need to do:
1. Check over the Organizer List of what we need to have to prepare your return.
2. Gather the necessary information.
3. IMPORTANT: Except for W-2's, NEVER send us the original copy of a document. We need the original W-2's to attach to your completed return if you will not be filing your return electronically; but you should make a COPY of all your W-2's and keep them in a safe place. Make legible copies of 1099's and other documents and send us the copies. Keep the originals in a safe place.
4. Use a trackable service for sending us the information. This can be registered mail, priority mail, Fedex Letter, UPS Letter, or any other carrier who will provide you with tracking information. Send it to the following address:

5. Send us an Email with the tracking number, carrier and expected delivery date so we can be ready to process your return. If we do not receive your information when expected, we will notify you.
6. We will examine the information you send and give you a firm price quote. If you have an Email address, we will send the quote via Email and will expect you to reply with an approval before we go ahead with the preparation. If you do not have an Email address, we will attempt to contact you by phone and receive a verbal approval. If you choose not to proceed after the quote, we will return all of your documents to you and there will be no charge for our service.
7. After approval, we will prepare your return from the information you have provided. If we have additional questions, we will contact you by Email or phone.
8. When your return is complete, we will send it to you via a trackable carrier service along with a bill for the services we have provided.
9. The bill for services is due upon receipt. Electronic Filing of your tax return will NOT take place until your bill has been paid. If you would like to pay via Credit Card, please call us at 1-408-243-6500 to provide that information.
