                                                                                                                ABSTRACT (ENGLISH)

 

This paper discusses the four points in Kreith and Isler’s August, 2002 Journal of Solar Energy Engineering  Discussion Note, Comments Dealing with Fuel Cell Energy Policy and Renewable Energy. The paper compares the carbon emissions (gm-CO2/mi) of the current US passenger gasoline vehicle (GV) fleet with a proposed US passenger hydrogen vehicle (HV) fleet. The paper uses the efficiency method to compute of the carbon content (gm-CO2/gal-H2) of hydrogen vehicle fuel (HVF) produced by a hydrogen electrolyzer (HE).  The carbon content of the electricity (gm-CO2/kWh) used to power a HE is used to compute the carbon content of the HVF. The fuel efficiency (mpg) of the current US GV fleet and of the proposed HV fleet are used to compute the carbon emissions of the two fleets. Kreith and Isler’s four points are demonstrated for H2 from a HE. Equations and a list of abbreviations are provided.

Cette étude aborde les quatre points de la Note de Kreith et Isler du Journal of Solar Energy Engineering d’Août 2002, Commentaires concernant  la politique de l’hydrogène énergie  et les énergies renouvables. Cette étude compare les émissions de carbone (gm-CO2/mile) du parc américain actuel de voitures particulières à essence (GV) avec un parc de voitures particulières à hydrogène. L’étude utilise différentes méthodes pour calculer le contenu en carbone (gm-CO2/gal-H2) du carburant de la voiture à hydrogène (HVF) produit par l’électrolyse de l’hydrogène (HE). Le contenu en carbone de l’électricité (gm-CO2/kWh) nécessaire pour faire marcher l’électrolyse (HE) est utilisé pour calculer le contenu en carbone du carburant de la voiture à hydrogène (HVF). Les performances du carburant (mpg) du parc américain actuel  des voitures particulières à essence (GV) et celle du parc proposé des voitures à hydrogène (HV) sont utilisées pour calculer les émissions de carbone des deux flottes. Les quatre points de Kreith et Isler sont démontrés pour l’hydrogène(H2) de l’électrolyse (HE). Les équations et la  liste des abréviations figurent dans cet article.
