Modern European Coal Plant CO2 SO2 and NOx are three green house gases (GHG) emitted in the electric generating sector of the US economy; from internal combustion engines in the transportation sector and from chemical processes in the industrial sector. CO2 emissions are a cause of global warming. SO2 and NOx emissions are causes of acid rain, smog and global warming. I have written eight papers/presentations on climate change mitigation, the Kyoto Protocol, carbon trading and the carbon tax. They are: An Analysis of the Policies Required to Earn Carbon (CO2) Emissions Credits When Generating Electricity at Wind Power Plants American Wind Energy Association, Washington, DC, WINDPOWER 2000, Palm Springs, CA., May 2, 2000. [2] The Effect That the Kyoto Protocol Will Have on the Cost of Wind Power in the Signatory Countries, Global WindPower 2002 Conference, European Wind Energy Association, American Wind Energy Association, Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturer's Association. April 2-5, 2002, Paris, France [7] The Use of the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to Help Finance Wind Projects in Developing Countries, Global WindPower 2004 Conference, 28-31 March 2004, Chicago, IL [16] An Analysis of Whether the Kyoto Protocol is Reducing the Cost Advantage of EU Fossil Electricity has Over EU Wind Electricity, 2008 European Wind Energy Conference, 31 March-02 April 2008, Brussels, Belgium [25] Mandatory US Carbon Emissions Ceiling (Cap) Will Reduce the Cost Advantage of Fossil Electricity Over Wind Electricity, WINDPOWER 2008 Conference & Exhibition 2008, June 1-4, Houston, TX [26] The Use of the Kyoto Protocol and its Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to Help Finance Wind Plants in Latin American Countries, Latin American Wind Energy Conference and Expo, November 6, 2008 Guadalajara, MX [27] A Mandatory US Federal Carbon Emissions Program (Kyoto-II) Will Reduce the Cost Advantage that Michigan Fossil Electricity has over Michigan Wind Electricity, 2009 Michigan Wind Conference, Cobo Hall, Detroit, MI 3-4 March 2009 [28] The Effect that President Obama and the new Congress Will Have on the American Wind Market, European Wind Energy Conference 2009, Marseille, France, 16-19 March 2009 [29]
To get a set of my publicly available documents on climate change mitigation, carbon emissions trading and the Kyoto Protocol, go to MY GHG Emissions Documents to Help You Understand the US Senate Climate Conference-Tues., April 4. 2006 Also check out Paper at the 2009 Michigan Wind Conference 3-4 March 2009, Cobo Hall, Detroit, MI The paper's title is A Mandatory US Federal Carbon Cap (Kyoto-II) will Help Reduce the Cost Advantage that Michigan (MI) Fossil Electricity has over MI Wind Electricity
