Carbon emissions

Modern European Coal Plant

I am an expert on the 2017 Chicago Climate Charter

COP 21 was for the signatory nations to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) while CMP 11 was only for the signatory nations to the Kyoto Protocol.

CO2  SOand  NOx  are three green house gases (GHG) emitted in the electric generating sector of the US economy; from internal combustion engines in the transportation sector and from chemical processes in the industrial sector. CO2 emissions are a cause of global warming. SO2 and NOx emissions are causes of acid rain, smog and some global warming.

I have written ten papers/presentations on climate change mitigation, the Kyoto Protocol, carbon trading and the carbon tax. They are:

  1. An Analysis of the Policies Required to Earn Carbon (CO2) Emissions Credits When Generating Electricity at Wind Power Plants American Wind Energy Association, Washington, DC, WINDPOWER 2000, Palm Springs, CA., May 2, 2000.  [2]
  2. The Effect That the Kyoto Protocol Will Have on the Cost of Wind Power in the Signatory Countries, 2002 Global WindPower Conference, April 2-5, 2002, Paris, France [7]
  3. The Use of the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to Help Finance Wind Projects in Developing Countries,   Global WindPower 2004 Conference, 28-31 March 2004, Chicago, IL [16]
  4. An Analysis of Whether the Kyoto Protocol is Reducing the Cost Advantage of EU Fossil Electricity has Over EU Wind Electricity, 2008 European Wind Energy Conference, 31 March-02 April 2008, Brussels, Belgium [25]
  5. Mandatory US Carbon Emissions Ceiling (Cap) Will Reduce the Cost Advantage of Fossil Electricity Over Wind Electricity, WINDPOWER 2008 Conference & Exhibition 2008, June 1-4, Houston, TX  [26]
  6. The Use of the Kyoto Protocol and its Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to Help Finance Wind Plants in Latin American Countries, Latin American Wind Energy Conference and Expo,  November 6, 2008 Guadalajara, MX   [27]
  7. A Mandatory US Federal Carbon Emissions Program (Kyoto-II) Will Reduce the Cost Advantage that Michigan Fossil Electricity has over Michigan Wind Electricity, 2009 Michigan Wind Conference, Cobo Hall, Detroit, MI 3-4 March 2009 [28]
  8. The Effect that President Obama and the new Congress Will Have on the American Wind Market, European Wind Energy Conference 2009, Marseille, France, 16-19 March 2009  [29]
  9. The Effect That a US Signature on a Kyoto-II Climate Change Mitigation Treaty (or an Equivalent US Domestic Change Policy) Will have on the US Wind Industry,  at the 2010 European Wind Energy Conference, 20-23 April, Warsaw, Poland [30]
  10. Stavy, Michael, The Increase in Global Solar Power Caused by Extending the Kyoto Protocol Until 2030, Solar Power International 2013, October 21-24, Chicago, IL USA  [31]

I have 33 published papers/presentations. The numbers in [ ] above are the paper numbers on my list of abstracts. To read the abstacts go to Abstracts of Michael Stavy's Published Papers and Presentations

To get a set of my publicly available documents on climate change mitigation, carbon emissions trading, the expired Kyoto Protocol, and the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement go to:

My last name, STAVY, is in capital letters on my website because French was the host language for the 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement. In French the family name is CAPITALIZED.

I help clients with climate change mitigation, the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, carbon trading and the carbon tax.
