Cool Tools For Writing Right

Could your student benefit from software tools that help teach and guide essay construction ? Let us do the training!

Brainstorming thoughts and organizing ideas are critical steps in the writing process. Outlining and webbing (or mapping) are two strategies to facilitate this process. Students will have hands-on experience learning how to use two computer programs that will enhance these processes through robust and dynamic tools.

  • Draft:Builder leads students through the key steps in creating a first draft: organizing ideas, note taking and writing the draft.
  • Inspiration is a graphic outlining tool that incorporates visual, audio, and internet resources.

In this workshop participants will learn how to use the many tools included with each program to support their own unique writing process.  One computer per student - maximum ten. Workshop at Center for Accessible Technology (http://www.cforat.org/), Berkeley. (directions)

Note: It is highly recommended that you purchase either or both of these tools for use at home.
Fee $185
