Managing Director
Steven M. Crimando, MA, BCETS, is the Managing Director of Extreme Behavioral Risk Management, LLC. He is a clinician and educator specialized in crisis intervention, disaster recovery, and traumatic event response. He has been conferred the status of Diplomate of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and is a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress. He also holds Level III Certification in Homeland Security through the American College of Forensic Examiners International, where he serves as the Vice Chairman for the Division of Forensic Counseling. He serves as a consultant and trainer for the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Emergency Management Agency and United Nations, and is a faculty member at the Rutgers University Center for Management Development.
As both an independent consultant and as a member of several public-sector crisis management teams, Steven has helped coordinate various aspects of the response to the TWA Flight 800 Crash, the 1993 and 9/11 World Trade Center attacks and bio-terror incidents in the Northeast. He is a consultant to many companies, universities and government agencies across the country. Steven has addressed professional audiences at major conferences on such topics as: "The Psychological Consequences of Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Radiological Terrorism", "Workplace Violence Intervention and Response", "Debriefing Strategies Applied During Downsizing", "Community Response to Disaster" and "CQI/TQM Methods in The War Room".
Steven has been featured in the New York Times and New Jersey Monthly magazine for his work with organizations in crisis, and has appeared on Fox TV's Montel Willaims Show and Fox News Channel, ABC-TV's World News Tonight, NBC-TV's Evening News, MSNBC-TV's InterNight, and numerous regional television and radio programs to address a vareity of crisis-related topics.
Steven holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and has post-graduate training in Clinical Psychology from Seton Hall University, in addition to dual undergraduate degrees in Human Development and Public Relations from Syracuse University. He has been called upon as an expert witness in crisis-related litigation and has written and published numerous articles addressing the human-factor in crisis management and disaster recovery.

This team is the home of some of the nation's foremost experts in crisis intervention. Each brings a specialized set of skills, such as large-scale crisis response, workplace violence and telecommunications crisis management. All associates possess at least a Master's level degree in an applied mental health field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling, etc.) and have been carefully screened and trained for the intense nature of crisis work. The use of this team of experienced, competent associates allows XBRM to assure the quality and consistency of all services. Associates are deployed to a given crisis as per their unique specializations, and team size is determined by the scope of the incident.

XBRM offers access to elite crisis intervention professionals, bringing their expertise to your location for the purpose of training, consultation or crisis intervention in a manner consistent with your organizational culture and philosophy. A Senior Associate is available on an on-call basis 24 hours a day for those clients who have subscribed to a XBRM service plan, or during regular business hours (EST) for non-subscribing clients.
