How Signature became the leading children's photographer in North Alabama

Opened in 1986, Signature Studios originally specialized in Wedding photography. After several years, the couples we had photographed started making babies and bringing them to us. We found that we had a real talent for children's photography. Lew Campbell, the owner, is particularly good with pre-verbal children. He seems to read their minds and can anticipate the perfect moment to release the shutter to catch those fleeting expressions. As our children grew, so did the studio, evolving slowly away from weddings, and into the children's market, with a mixture of families, seniors, and other types of work. In 1998, we became the first all digital portrait studio in the Eastern U.S. when we purchased a $40,000 digital camera system. This system allowed us to do things that were only dreams a few years ago. Now, (2006) we're on the fourth generation of digital cameras and have not owned a film camera in this century.
