How Signature became the leading children's photographer in North Alabama

Opened in 1986, Signature Studios originally specialized in Wedding photography. After several years, the couples we had photographed started making babies and bringing them to us. We found that we had a real talent for children's photography. Lew Campbell, the owner, is particularly good with pre-verbal children. He seems to read their minds and can anticipate the perfect moment to release the shutter to catch those fleeting expressions. As our children grew, so did the studio, evolving slowly away from weddings, and into the children's market, with a mixture of families, seniors, and other types of work. In 1998, we became the first all digital portrait studio in the Eastern U.S. when we purchased a $40,000 digital camera system. This system allowed us to do things that were only dreams a few years ago. Now, (2006) we're on the fourth generation of digital cameras and have not owned a film camera in this century. How We Do Things
Signature Studios is an innovator in the photographic industry, with a string of "firsts" to our credit. In that spirit, we are the first full time studio in this area to offer joint copyright to the images we create for you. Those who wish to have a file copy of the entire session and the legal right to reproduce the images may purchase a CD in addition to (or in place of) portraits. Clients who want to decide on the order at the time of the session can do so without a minimum order and receive a 15% discount off the "carry home proofs" method. Those wishing the traditional "proofs to take home to decide" method may do so with a minimum order payment. Proof sheets are available "while you wait". Finished orders normally are ready in about two weeks. (longer in busy seasons) Enlargements bigger than 8X10 may take slightly longer.
