    Bonding

In today's market, bonding has become a necessary tool for government jobs. Without bonding you will not have a level playing field in which to bid. The SCDP Program offers assistance in both learning about and acquiring bonding, facilitated by SCDP, for contractors which have entered into the program. If you are having trouble acquiring bonding, or need any assistance on the topic, please contact Martin A. Prisant or Christopher M. Ward listed in the Contact Information link.

    Contract Extension

The SCDP Program has been extended by the City of Fort Worth until 2/28/07 while the current proposals for the renewal are reviewed (M&C Reference Number C-21895).  We will post the outcome of the city's decision upon their completion of the review process.

The Program has expanded to a city-wide basis. This expands the area of assistance provided to contractors for all city departments including the Water Department, Transportation and Public Works,  Parks and Recreation, and Department of Engineering.

As always we are looking for new or existing contractors who could benefit from technical and financial assistance to be able to participate in open bids with any of the city departments.

    SITE CLEAN-UP

Clean-up has become an issue on certain SCDP contracts. Complaints have been filed with the City regarding the lack of clean-up. The fact that the hard part of the contract has been completed (ie: open cut, pipe laying, boring, etc.) does not mean that the job is complete. The citizen also cares about the fence that the contractor had to put down in order to perform his/her contract, the grass that has been destroyed while the equipment drove over it, the actual debris that any job site collects. We have to make sure that not only is the City happy, but the ultimate user (the citizen) as well. Clean-up is just as an important part of the contract as the actual open cut or pipe laying portions. CLEAN-UP, CLEAN-UP, CLEAN-UP. Remember, the job is not complete until the site has been ..........? YES, CLEANED UP AND BROUGHT BACK TO AT LEAST ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION OR AS STATED IN THE CONTRACT.
