We are able to meet these commitments by sticking to the following core principles: 1. Focus We solve legal issues facing small businesses every day. That is all we do. We have worked with hundreds of small businesses and represented clients in over 10,000 transactions. Chances are we have seen your issues before and know exactly what to do for you. We work with other law firms who have expertise in other areas of law so we can put together the right team of legal professionals to address your needs. 2. Talent We believe that "better people make better lawyers". We only hire bright creative people - not billing machines. We can relate to the challenges facing your business on a personal level because we all have previous experience running our own businesses. 3. Hustle We understand that clients want legal issues dealt with quickly. Our goal is to respond to most of our client`s needs within two business days of establishing the lawyer – client relationship. 4. Fees Simply stated, hourly billing does not promote the efficient delivery of legal services. We have fundamentally changed the way legal services are priced so as to provide incentives to achieve fast innovative solutions to your legal needs. We offer fixed fees based on the complexity of the matter. 5. Expenses Unlike other firms we do not charge for secretarial overtime, word processing, photocopying, faxing, telephone calls, software licence fees or other items that are really part of a law firm’s overhead. We charge our clients only for costs we incur using third party vendors. In matters involving an unusually large expense we will consult with you before incurring the expense. We do not charge for doing things that do not call upon our knowledge and experience as legal professionals. The following is a list of items that we do not charge to clients: · transmittal letters that do not contain significant legal analysis or recommendations · short phone calls that do not lead to immediate legal work · any activity that does not work towards resolution of the client's matter · any activity that deals with general information about the client · any activity that does not add value to the client's matter · update or general information calls to or from the client 6. Efficiency We do not have fancy offices and we are very careful with our overhead so we can share those savings with you. We are centrally located in one of Calgary`s best office centres close to all the major banks and government offices. We give every team member the best possible technology to share information and access all of the firm's online resources. 7. Environment We are striving to become a paperless office. Our office produces over 15 square kilometres of paper per year. We used to produce much more. Help us make a positive impact on the environment by working with us remotely as much as possible and saying good bye to paper reports in favour of online reporting and billing? Not only is it easy, convenient and free, but we will be doing a little something to save a few trees as well. 8.
