FastOne (Aventine Club '73 Mix)
The opening sounds on this instrumental track were recorded at a Hot Rod Gang show at the Aventine Club, Gateshead, England, home of the North East Rock'n'Roll Society in January 1973. The original recording of the band was made on Compact Cassette and the quality wasn't good enough to release, so I added some guitar, bass & percussion overdubs to make this version.

The title FastOne came from the shouts of the teds and rockers of the North East Rock'n'Roll Society, who always wanted each number to be even faster than the one before it, so that they could hurl themselves frantically about the dance floor.

The announcer at the beginning is HRG pianist Red Hot Rockin' Dave Heslop, who is playing with us again in The Rockin' Timberwolves, 32 years later! (see 'Picture Gallery' and 'Tales from the Northbound Lane' for more details). A full version of this track will be released on CD.
