Overview

The Basic Fundamentals for Creating Successful Relationships and Marriages

"I made love to my wife 18 times in 19 days and I am a 64-year-old senior citizen," claims a veteran of 25 years of marriage. A 40-year-old executive states, "My marriage was just about over and I desperately needed something to get my wife and children back. I had to learn how to really love, all over again." Wouldn't you like to feel that way again?

It is hard to believe that millions of people get married every single day and very few of them have ever learned the fundamentals of marriage. It is a common truth that you cannot master anything until you learn the basic fundamentals. Yet, in our culture, we do not provide an effective vehicle for coaching people on how to successfully navigate the mysterious waters of fulfilling marital relationships. We leave such matters to chance.

Today, there is a 50-50 chance that a marriage will end in divorce and be accompanied by emotional suffering, broken homes and children raised without the benefits of both parents being present. Statistically, the nuclear family system, consisting of man and wife, plus children; has slipped into the minority of family structures. More people are choosing not to get married and single parent households now dominate the demographic landscape. Grandparents are now raising their grandchildren, far more than they ever had in the past. Career minded people are choosing to put off marriage to an older age, while the number of singles grows every year. The Love Program can take the guesswork out of building and maintaining sizzling marriages by providing very powerful and specific guidelines for achieving marital ecstasy.

Finding the Time

Find It or Lose It!

What if I were to tell you that you could learn the basic fundamentals of marriage, guaranteeing that you will achieve the utmost of satisfaction from a relationship made in heaven? Would you believe me? I can hear the cynics saying, "Oh! Come on!" But, the truth is you can have the most ecstatic marital relationship, just by following some basic fundamentals.

Sizzling relationships depend on extended time spent nurturing, caring and loving one another. Everybody Wants to Win and Be a Winner. Nobody wants to lose and accumulate losses. As in business, sports and other activities, marriage follows the same rule; Everybody Wants to Win. Sometimes it is very difficult discovering effective strategies for many areas of life. But, a weekly commitment to scheduling in an Uninterrupted Attention program is a sure winner. Your marriage has to be your No. 1 priority. Don't squeeze it in between your other activities! It is the centerfold around which all of your other activities must revolve. Your partner and your marriage must come first; otherwise you and your partner will deplete the Love Fund and kill the relationship. I tell you this, because it is easy and very common to turn a Love Fund into a Hate Fund. If you do not believe me, then check with all of those once loving couples, who now hate each other.

Therapy Sessions

Information and Scheduling

Therapy sessions are by individual appointment only and must be scheduled in advance. Couples will not be seen together until a good portion of initial groundwork has been established and relationship intensity has been diffused. If you have to cajole, convince, and drag your partner to therapy, forget it -- therapy won't work. As with any endeavor, therapy will only work if you and/or your partner are highly motivated and deeply commited to change and growth ... no matter what it takes.

For those who live in Southern California, office therapy sessions are one hour for $165. Longer sessions are available. For those who live a distance from our office or outside Southern California, therapy sessions can be done via Telephone or Email therapy. Therapy payments can be remitted securely through PayPal or paid by check or money order and mailed to the office. Payment must be received prior to the session day or the appointment will be rescheduled.

Twenty-four hour cancellation notice is required for all sessions, otherwise a full session fee will be charged. For more information, feel free to email Dr. Hannig or call the office directly at 818-882-7404.

Before Entering Therapy

An Initial Autobiography is Required

Before entering therapy, a provide a 3-5 page autobiography is necessary. This screening tool provides us with an excellent opportunity to study your circumstances before your first session and get right to the point - saving you time and money (see below). Please mail or email the document so that it is received prior to your first session.

On paper, please describe in as much detail as possible:

  • Tell why you are seeking help at this time of your life.
  • Describe yourself, your family and present life situation.
  • Give as much detail as you can concerning the circumstances surrounding childhood, your birth, medical issues; where you were born and raised; important relationships such as parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.
  • Include your childhood, teenage and adult years - with its love relationships, engagements, marriages, breakups, divorces, deaths, losses and gains.
  • If difficulties concern a minor or significant other living at home with you, please include as much information about that person too. When did the behavior begin? Were there any events in his/her life that triggered its onset?
  • Give a brief occupational history and include descriptions concerning moods, anxiety and personality. Also include data concerning alcohol and substance abuse, smoking, and medications that you are presently taking.
  • Give a description of your cultural and spiritual background and history, if any. What religious or spiritual methods have you practised or used?
  • **Please keep in mind that an autobiography submitted prior to your session saves you time and money. Having your information on hand before therapy begins jumpstarts your progress and guarantees that your initial session is not spent gathering historical data.

Session Payments

Remit Payments Securely and Easily through PayPal

Session payments must be received at least two days prior to your session to allow for bank processing. If payment by check or money order is preferred, please allow enough time for payment to reach us via the mail. Contact us with any questions that you might have.
