Treatment Possibilities and Recommendations
by Paul J. Hannig, Ph.D.
I recommend
considering the following approaches for obtaining maximum results. Ask your doctor to explain these
recommendations. Please check off those
approaches that might be of interest to you and submit them to your
therapist/coach.
1. The Orthomolecular Method ___ 2.
Psychiatric Medications ___
3. Physical
Exercise ___ 4.
Psychological Counseling ___
5. Spiritual
Methods ___ 6.
Personal Coaching ___
7. Self-help
Methods ___ 8.
Telephone Therapy ___
Also ask about prayer, meditation, deep feeling
methods, and talk therapy.
1. The Orthomolecular Method: The following substances have been used very
successfully with the orthomolecular approach.
In many cases the megadose method is extremely effective.... Vitamin C, niacin, P.S. 100
[phosphatidylserine], DMAE, 5-HTP, TCB 3 herbal stress formula (Chinese
formula), Nature's Rescue (flower remedy), Melatonin, Valerian root, Kava Kava,
etc. various natural, decaffeinated teas, like green tea, saw Palmetto, comfrey
and chamomile.
2. Psychiatric medications: Great advances have been made in recent
years with psychiatric medications.
They are extremely effective; but not perfect. Treat them as if they were angels of mercy that can help balance
chemical and neurotransmitter deficiencies in the brain. There are many ways to balance brain
chemistry and this is one of them to consider in an overall program for
advancing your growth. Overall good
treatment requires a blend of the different approaches. Look to experiment at first, in order to
find the combinations that work for you.
Everyone is different and it will take a while to get the right
combinations.
3. Physical exercise is a must for obtaining
overall well-being. An effective
physical exercise and training program can do much to eliminate poor
circulation, out of balance chemistry and the ravages of free radicals.
4. Psychological counseling is a must for
achieving overall success. There is
a multitude of treatment interventions that can be utilized, once a thorough
assessment and evaluation has taken place.
The information that you give to your therapist/coach will help to
mutually determine what techniques and approaches work with your personality
and individual needs. Don't be afraid
to discuss the various treatment possibilities that are available.
5.
Spiritual Therapy: This approach has made
great strides in recent years and should not be alleviated from your
program. You may wish to explore the
possibilities of prayer, meditation and deep feeling methods in your healing
journey. A special interest is the area
where quantum physics intersects with universal healing energy.
6. Personal Coaching: This is an approach that is gaining national popularity, since it combines very powerful techniques for achieving maximum, successful results in all areas of your life.
7. Self-help Methods: In the last 20 years there has been a
tremendous upsurge in self-help methodologies.
Ask your therapist/counselor to coach and teach you on how to use the many
self-help methods that are available.
You can receive a lot of benefits from the work that you do on yourself,
at home.
8. Telephone
Therapy: With the invention of
advanced telephone technology and treatment procedures, effective treatment,
coaching and counseling can be conducted from the comfort, safety and
convenience of your own home. It does
not matter where you live and how bad the traffic jams are. Amplified telephone systems make therapy,
counseling and coaching something you can do at home.
