Keiko's Method of Laying a Hawaiian Quilt
Keiko Sakamoto one of the Hawaiian quilt instructors and the Royal Hawaiian Center has been teaching a new method of laying out a Hawaiian Quilt.  It take a little longer but its a more accurate method.  Thank You Keiko for this wonderful tip.

Saving Every Bit of Material

Laying out a Hawaiian Quilt

Saving Every Bit of Material
Sometimes laying out a Hawaiian Quilt  can be real easy using Keiko's Method.

Carefully cut out your Hawaiian quilt and save every bit of scrap material.

Carefully Laying Out The Quilt

A Perfectly Centered Quilt
Carefully Lay out your quilt design as well as the scrap material that was cut out.

When laying out both the design and the scraps left over you will be able to have a perfectly centered quilt.  It's like putting a puzzle together. First pin the design and then the scraps to the backing. Sometimes it's better to pin the left over boarders and than the design.....which ever way you decide the result is still a perfectly laid out quilt.

The End Result
Yes it takes more time but you'll be happy with the end result.  No more estimating or eye balling your quilt

The End Result is a perfectly laid out quilt
