Isamu & Keiko Kawai

The Hawaiian quilters of yesteryear always believed that the Hawaiian quilt embodied the spirit of the quilter. In this case, the beautiful quilts of the Kawai Family Quilt collection embodies the spirit of two special people--Isamu & Keiko Kawai.  Six years ago Keiko Kawai became part of the Poakalani Hawaiian Quilt Class at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.  Each and every quilt that Keiko completed not only reflected  her desires but her husband's as well. As a team, Keiko's husband Isamu became her number one motivator and quilt cutter.  With expertise and perfect precision  Isamu would cut out all of Keiko's quilt patterns, and with Keiko's expert stitches--she gave the quilts life by appliqueing and quilting each and every design.  Their quilts now have a part of both husband and wife, and as a team they have created quilts that reflect not only Hawaii but their love. Congratulations to Isamu & Keiko for sharing with us their aloha and their Family Quilt Collection.  All Quilt Designs are Copyrighted.
