Calendar Page Help

The Calendar can be displayed through year, month, week, or day modes. A person using the calendar can either enter a date to be displayed at the top of the calendar page or click on the date he or she wishes to see. The left and right arrows will advance the display by one unit depending on the type of display chosen.

Clicking the New Event button will open a new page in which an event for the calendar may be entered.
Note: If a site owner has set access to allow visitors to only read the information, you will not be able to see the New Event button.

Clicking the name of the event listed for a day will open a screen detailing the event.

Clicking the Search button will allow a user to enter a keyword (such as birthday). The user will be provided the search results and can click on the displayed links to see the events listed.

To enter a new event on the calendar:

  1. Click the New Event button.
  2. This will open a new page in which the details of the event are entered.
  3. Enter the name of the event in the Event field.
  4. Select the date of the event.
  5. Enter the starting time of the event.
  6. Enter the duration of the event.
  7. If you wish, you may enter a description of the event in the Description text box.
  8. If you wish, you may enter, in the Attendees text box, the names of the people who should be attending the event.
  9. If you have related information or materials (such as an agenda you have posted for viewing or printing), enter the URL to that site in the Related Info URL text box.
Note: If you use a URL that has a space in it, Motorola eSite will automatically enter %20 in place of the space so that the link will work on all browsers.
  10. If the event is recurring, enter the information in the Recurring Event area
  11. If you want an image to appear in the event details when someone selects the event, click the add/change button in the event image area of the Edit Event page. You will need to select an image from the ones available in your scrapbooks, from a stock library, or upload a new image to your scrapbook. You may enter a caption for the image. If you leave the caption field blank, no caption will be associated with the image.
