WELCOME TO THE PFOLA WEBSITE!
-
Founded in 1990, the Prescription Foot Orthotic Laboratory Association is a non-profit professional Association dedicated to promoting and improving the efficacy of custom, prescription foot orthoses to the medical professions, the public, and to third-party providers of medical coverage. Originally founded with 15 laboratories from across the United States, the association has grown to 48 member laboratories, from the United States, Canada, England, Australia and Hong Kong.
In conjunction with the Board for Accreditation of Prescription Foot Orthotic Laboratories (BAPFOL), PFOLA also works to improve the quality systems of laboratories through the BAPFOL accreditation process. There are currently accredited laboratories in the United States, Canada and Hong Kong.
The Association's annual meeting is held each spring and its annual educational seminar is held in the fall. At the educational seminar, topics are presented on biomechanics of the foot and ankle, orthotic therapy, technical innovations, and other topics as they relate to the profession. The Association is open for membership to any foot orthotic laboratory that produces custom foot orthotics, by prescription, from a modified form such as a plaster mold or a digital volumetric image, as their primary business. Membership benefits include newsletters, educational seminars, credit reporting services, listing and links through the PFOLA web site, and the opportunity to network with other members of the profession. If you are interested in further information on membership and its benefits, contact the International Association Office at: 1-604-685-4818 or within North America Toll Free: 1-800-347-6585 or Email: info@pfola.org
