Pelican Dunes at Crescent
The main living area of the home is above the trees, the bedrooms are below. The ground level has two bedrooms and a bath, utility room, and entrance to an enclosed stairway and elevator. This photo was taken from the roof of a home between our place and the ocean. You can see the Matanzas Marshes, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Florida mainland in the background. The trees in the area are primarily live oak, camphor, and palmettoes.

Front of house Aug 06.jpg
Our address is on A1A South, a scenic byway. But you cannot see the house from the road, as we have a long driveway. A wooded dune insulates the house from road noise from the highway, and you cannot see the traffic from our decks.

Main Living Area
Viewed from the kitchen. The upstairs is an open area, with the fireplace in the center. A half-bath is behind the fireplace.

View from the north, 1993
In the center of the picture is one of our stairways, leading from the front door. The other stairway is on the south side exterior. The house shown on the left side of ours has since been demolished. The white door seen here has made way for an elevator shaft.

Path across dunes.jpg
Pelican Dunes is in the second row of houses, not directly ocean front. But we have a pathway through an oak grove, past the palmettoes, and over the coastal setback of dunes, (viewed above).

A few minutes before sunrise
Each morning is dramatic, and different. On most days, the colors stretch from the horizon in the east, through the clouds overhead, all the way to far in the west.
