Matanzas Inlet This photo looks north, from just west of Marineland.  The road paralleling the river is  Highway A1A.  The former route of A1A is directly oceanfront, but is not now passable by automobile.  The houses on the left of A1A are in a community known as Summer Island; the community just before the inlet is Summerhaven.  Pelican Dunes is about one mile beyond the bridge.  Fort Matanzas is just out of view in the upper left.
