Our " Le Manche Collector ", is a one day collecting tour which includes collecting minerals at the Le Manche Galena Mine near Southern Harbour on the Avalon Peninsula. The mine was worked during the 1800s and over 9 different minerals can be collected at the site.

The minerals which can be found include galena, barite, purple calcite, quartz crystals, malachite and even rarely amethyst, common opal, chalcopyrite and others.

This tour is guided and facilitated by a geologist with many years experience in the mineral exploration industry across Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada and is moderately Spanish speaking.

The tour will present opportunities to gather samples of locally found rocks and minerals. The exclusive tour can accommodate up to six passengers in roomy modular seating and air-conditioned comfort.
