SATELLITE MEDIA TOUR

On The Scene Productions
747 Third Avenue, 3rd Floor
New York, NY 10017

217 Airings in Major Markets from Coast to Coast

Popular Science Magazine hosted a special two-hour satellite media tour showcasing the PowerSki Igniter 2000 Jetboard as one of the hottest products and technologies from among the winners of Popular Science Magazine's 2001 “Best of What’s New” Award. Powerski International (PSI) shipped a Jetboard to the studios in New York for the special two-hour satellite media tour that included morning news show appearances nationwide.

The SMT reached far beyond its original bookings as stations picked up a generic interview and B-roll offered in a separate feed. There were 217 airings in major markets from coast to coast.

This format put Popular Science Magazine spokesperson Suzanne Kantra in the studio being interviewed one-on-one by reporters via satellite. On The Scene’s media specialits pre-booked the stations in consecutive “windows,” going to as many as seven cities per hour. Suzanee specifically talked about the Jetboard on the following stations:

St. Louis KSDK — Live

Los Angeles KABC — Taped

Tulsa KJRH — Live

Phoenix KPHO — Live

Denver KUSA — Live

National CONUS — Taped

Cleveland WKYC — Taped (aired 11/15/01)

Fort Smith, AR KFSM — Live

Birmingham WBRC — Live

Spokane, WA KXLY — Live

Columbus, OH WBNS — Taped

A “TechTV” interview ran live 11/13/01 at 11 a.m. EST. TechTV is the only cable television channel covering technology information, news and entertainment from a consumer, industry and market perspective 24 hours a day.

The Popular Science Magazine Satellite Media Tour was implemented by DWJ Television, Ridgewood, NJ (NY Metro), a broadcast public relations company with more than 29 years of experience producing and placing radio and television programming for corporate and public relations agency clients.

‘Project of the Month’
The satellite media tour with Suzanne Kantra, "What’s New" Editor for Popular Science, won DWJ-TV’s "project of the month" honors.

In addition to satellite media tours, DWJ produces a wide range of radio, TV and video projects, including video news releases, radio series, audio news releases, remote radio tours, teleconferences, public service announcements, corporate and marketing videos, CD-ROMs, DVDs, and Internet.
