Complex, High-Stakes Criminal Defense
Patrick A. Mullin is a veteran criminal and tax defense attorney with repeated success in representing his clients over the past 30 years. He specializes in complex, high-stakes federal criminal and white collar criminal matters.

Mr. Mullin is one of the select few practitioners who have presented oral argument before the United States Supreme Court on a federal criminal sentencing issue.

For well over a decade, Mr. Mullin was an active member of the Practitioners Advisory Group to the United States Sentencing Commission which, subject to congressional oversight, establishes sentencing policy for the Federal Courts.

Patrick Mullin studied at Harvard Law School's graduate program where he was honored with Special Student status. He holds a Masters of Law in Taxation from the top-rated New York University School of Law Tax Law program. He also served, from 2001-2006, as an instructor at legendary attorney Gerry Spence's highly respected Trial Lawyers' College, of which he is also a graduate.

Mr. Mullin is listed in The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and was selected for inclusion to the 2010 New York Metro Super Lawyers Edition, as well as the 2009 and 2010 Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition and the 2009 and 2010 New Jersey Super Lawyers Edition for excellence in the areas of both white collar criminal defense and taxation.

Mr. Mullin holds an AV® rating from the Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings Service, which signifies that an attorney has attained the highest level of professional excellence.

In addition to being admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar, Patrick Mullin is admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court as well as in numerous tax courts, U.S. federal district courts and U.S. federal circuit courts across the country. He is also a practicing member of the New York, Washington, D.C., and New Jersey Bars.

Mr. Mullin began his career as a Federal Intern with the Honorable Henry Bramwell in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and then was appointed as a Senior Law Clerk for the Honorable Dickenson R. Debevoise in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Patrick Mullin writes and lectures on criminal issues including criminal tax law, federal sentencing, mandatory minimum sentencing and related topics. Mr. Mullin's commentary and analysis of legal issues and courtroom strategies in matters such as the Michael Jackson investigation, Michael Vick criminal case and the Barry Bonds case are frequently in the media.

Through his skill and experience, Mr. Mullin has earned the designation of Certified Criminal Trial Attorney. This certification is granted by the New Jersey State Supreme Court only after an attorney meets rigorous criteria which includes extensive trial experience and mastery of criminal, procedural and substantive law. Currently in New Jersey, fewer than 300 attorneys hold this certification.
