We attach our equipment to the air ducts

See how we attach to the airducts....
We dock these hoses to the trunk lines of your system, both the supply trunk line and the return. In some systems we have to dock to the plenum of the air handler. But either way, we clean both the supply and the return branch runs and trunk lines of your system.

How we remove the dirt

Meet the General

This is a machine that creates "negative air", in fact, this pulls 5,250 cubic feet of air per minute. Why do you care? This pulls the dirt out of your home and doesn't allow any of it to float in back up into your living area.

We do have the ability to use other negative air machines that are hepa filtered in situations where that is required.

We use compressed air driven tools

We losen the dirt in your ducts

Windstorm in your ducts

In the forefront of this picture you can see a compressor that is used with tools that are placed inside the airducts to losen the dirt that is caked on to the bottom and sides of your ducts. While the General is drawing the air through the system, long lengths of hose with 360 degree high velocity nozzels are "snaked" through the entire system. This will dislodge and push any debris that might be stuck to the interior surfaces. The debris can then travel down the ducts to the General which removes it from the system. We use special spinning brushes for flex duct.

So we have the General pulling the dirt and air out while we losen the dirt inside your system. Often times this dirt is as thick as a few inches.  Here is a picture of an airduct before cleaning.

Just check out how it all comes together
So not to be confusing, we set up this equiptment. We then isolate the supply side from the return by simply blocking the air flow at the filter compartment. Then we make the wind storm..... When it's all working together, this is what you could see! And incidentally, all this equipment makes noise!

Patching it up between us

In order to do a thorough  job we need to create accesses into the ductwork.  This can be to attach the general extractor hose, or to get brushes or aggitation tools where they need to go. Here are some pictures of what this all means.  Most important to you, is how we secure the accesses so your system works as it should.   Here is a picture of a place where we connected the general to, and patched using a metal patch, placing adequate numbers of screws on it's perimeter to ensure a proper seal.

To ensure a proper seal we put tape around the opening.

And for those places where we need a smaller hose, we use a plastic plug that fills in this tiny opening..

In the living area....

What about those dusty registers and grates?
Actually the first thing we do is to remove the regsiters and vacuum them and the boots to the system. We use industrial strength HEPA vacuums with special tools to clean your registers. Our HEPA vacs have 5 filters designed to capture all dust particles. They will not allow dust back into the living environment. We are careful not to peel paint or wallpaper, even if the registers or grates are painted in. We will score the edges so you will not be able to tell we've been there! We always replace them as we found them.

We can do solid ductwork or flex ducts
Many homes have both forms of ductwork, we have tools for both sorts of ductwork, so this needn't be a worry. We are able to remove debris that pools up in the ridges of the flexduct and to treat those areas if needed too!

My dryer vent is clogged...

What about dryer vents?
We clean dryer vents every day! We'll even do your dryer vent when we do your air handling system at a discount. Many homes have long paths for dryer exhaust. This allows lint, pet hairs or other debris coming out of your laundry to actually fill the vent line to the point that air can no longer pass through it. This can simply be an inconveniece but can also be unsafe for your dryer and your home.

Other places to be concerned about

But before we leave.......
We'd never dream of leaving your house without airwashing the vacuum fan, fan compartment, a/c coils or heat exchanger and plenum. It would be in the ductwork in a few days anyways....we feel it needs to be done.

What happens to the Dirt you remove?
We gladly remove it..until next time! Clean your ducts every 4-5 years!
