Broadwater Health Center is a small facility - 9 acute beds and 35 skilled nursing beds - in a town of 1800 in west-central Montana.  Our service area is Broadwater County, with nearly 4000 residents.  Our medical staff consists of two full-time physicians who share call, and a retired physician who fills in as necessary.  The area has supported three physicians in the past, and the population is growing steadily.  We currently offer acute care, long term care, emergency care, ambulance, home health and physical therapy.  We are 30 minutes on a good road to St. Peter's Community Hospital in Helena, the state capitol.  St.Peter's is a 100-bed facility with specialists including oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, and surgery.  

Townsend is billed as "the first town on the Missouri", 35 miles from the convergence of the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin rivers as the headwatersof the Missouri River.  Canyon Ferry lake stretches north from town for about 25 miles, providing many recreational opportunities.  National Forest is accessible within 15 miles to the east or west of Townsend. Hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, hiking and climbing opportunities are near by.  

Each of our present physicians operate independently on a fee-for-service basis.  We prefer another independent practitioner to whom we would be willing to offer income support, and we would be willing to look at other compensation arrangements.
