The national average commitment rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was 6.71 percent, with an average 0.7 point, for the week ending June 14, 2002,
Freddie Mac says.

Values Rise at 5.7 Percent Rate in First Quarter
Growth in home values climbed at an annualized rate of 5.7 percent in the first
quarter of 2002, according to the Freddie Mac Conventional Mortgage
Home Price Index. This figure more than doubles the annualized rate for the
fourth quarter of 2001--2.7 percent.
