An artist is an observer of life. His art is a reflection of
what he has seen, what he has learned, and who he is.
Below are some of my recent paintings. Birds and mammals continue to be the main focus of my art,
as they have been since I began painting in 1990. And I continue to be fascinated by the effects of
"light" on color and design.
Over the past ten years I've tried to convey a sense of motion through the use of brush-strokes.
If you observe any wild animal, you'll notice they spend much of their lives in motion: flying, walking,
running, swimming, jumping. Brush-strokes convey this action.
Using the richness of paint pigments and thoughtful control of "values" and "edges" it is my goal
to bring my subjects to life on the canvas.
I hope you enjoy your visit to this online gallery.
