Past What's New May 2nd to May 31st 2001

My thought of the day May 31st 2001 Sorry I haven't written...there has been so much going on. Body problems! My knee has been bugging me, and my back (because of an accident I was in a while ago) gets stiff if I don't hit the gym...so, I have to make sure I keep the blood flowing. I had different sports doctors tell me I needed surgery. I put it off, and well, it started to bug me more over the past few months again and so I went and had an MRI done on my knee. Turns out, it's perfect the joints are fine, just a little inflamed and needed rest and ice. Shew! That was close!Anyway...I'm sure you don't want to hear about my health problems.

MAGIC! MAGIC! AND MORE MAGIC! Well, today was a fun one. I taught about thirty elementary school teachers Mime so that they can teach some kids during a summer program. It was a real crash course. I sold several T-shirts, also. Yeah! Hey, by a T-shirt, please? If you buy one from my Online Store, I will donate $5 to the Quake Relief Fund! C'mon, it's a great cause, and you can be a Jack Julius fan and help some unfortunate people. This weekend I've got 4 shows. Three on Sat. 1st is a B-day party. Second is the "Quake Relief Concert" from 6 to 8:30. All invited! It's a big deal that a friend of mind has put together. And third is a Private fundraising party for can goods and a local homeless shelter. It's a Mardi Graw Party, So I'll be in White Mime Face Attire, with my Assistant Jenn. Sunday, I'm performing another large party.
My thought of the day May 23rd 2001 Hello! It's late, which is actually the only real time I have to do anything on my site. There are many up dates! The Art and Magic of Mime one day workshop page is up. Lots of info and directions and a map. Also, the Magic Camp Page is up! I sent out most of my invites for the Mime workshop. Now I have to send out for the Magic Camps! The 11th thru the 15th is set in stone. A list of all the other Magic Camps will be up shortly. The Past weekend was a really bust one with three shows. They all went well and I was really happy with to turn out. It's pretty cool when a little kid comes up to me and gives me a big hug for the magic show. Next week I'm going to teach some adult teachers Mime so they can teach their students. I have a lot to put into the calendar, but you should still call me just in case. Please sign my New Guest Book and try out the Discussion Threads page and post some thoughts on anything!
My thought of the day May 17th 2001 Well, yesterday was a really busy one...I did two shows, one in VA, and the other in Davidsonville, Maryland, and then zoomed off to Washing ton, DC to see David Copperfield at the Warner Theater. The First was a B-Day party. I love doing the personal shows like that. But, I really love the stage, the volume and the mass audiences. But to please a few kids close up and see their faces light up is a great and magical site. The second show was for about 300 wild girl scouts and parents. Help! Actually it was great. The show turned out wonderfully. But, afterwards, everybody swarmed me and it took me a while to break free long enough get packed up and head to Washington DC just in time with 10 min to spare. I brought a good friend (she's a pro unicyclist) and well, the show was great as usual! Yes, even after seeing it only two weeks ago. Most people assume that if I do magic that I wouldn't enjoy watching another magician perform. Not true! I love to watch other magicians and entertainers perform. It helps me to learn more of what's going on out there. Being the loyal fan of David's that I am, I got a hat this time! But, nothing could make my day better than what happened after the show. I knew one of David's assistants from a previous show, and saw him again this time...and he asked, "Did you get your picture yet?" I told him, "No, not yet..." and he then said,"Let me see if he's busy.." Well, to make it short, after the show, I met David for a few (very few) minutes (because he is always sooooo busy) and got a photo of him and I together. Hey, Thanks John! Want to see it?
To see Jack (me) and David Copperfield-Click here! This with take you to the "Jack Julius Fan Club" and once you are there, click on the Photos section, then look for "Jack and David." Join the club, it's free!
Okay, now What's new? Puzzles! Have your favorite photos from your party made into a puzzle! More details coming soon! Magic Camp! Yes, finishing up the details! I will let you know very soon! Learn magic with me in June! Special Events!!!!
My thought of the day May 12th 2001 Wow! I love it when I totally amaze everyone...even my self. Shows went well! No! Shows went great! When the parents come up and ask me, "How did you do that?" Then I know I entertained the big kids too! Which what I like to do, make sure, not just the kids, but the parents were also pleased.
My thought of the day May 10th 2001 Hello! What a busy day! Shew! The show at the park went well, yesterday. The kids and the adults loved it! Today, I worked, ran around and posted some flyers up at Anne Arundel Comm. College. The Art Of Mime page is up for the details on the Teaching Seminar! It's Sat June 16th starting at 8:30 am for kids and 1:00 p.m. for adults...I will have pizza and refreshments! Be there about 30 min early to sign in! I still have a few things to add...but there should be enough to get you started. Good Night!
My thought of the day May 8th 2001 Actually it's May 9th now...it's really late...I did a show today, and have one tomorrow morning...I'll have the Teaching Seminar page up in a day or so and some other updates. Check back, please...Good Night!
My thought of the day May 7th 2001 I can't believe how fast time is going by. Swoosh! Hello, it's Monday! about 12:30pm...yes, I was going to run...but found my toilet was leaking water ")&*(^*!!#". Well, I did get to the Doc and found out I had an ear infection, which is rare in adults, but does happen. I'm still coughing a bit...I have medicine for it...Ohh no! I'm a druggy! Okay, anyway, this week and weekend zoomed by. I did a few shows, was free on Sunday, so I went to the park to practice my unicycling. Like I'm really gonna be a pro? Yeah! Well, you never know. I skated a bit and then went to see a few bands play at some "Olah..." special event! It got really chilly so I came home...and cleaned, cleaned and cleaned my office, getting rid of the paper trails. The highlight of my weekend? Watching David Copperfield Do his thing. Yes, the same stuff he did on his recent TV special. I really like this show compared to most...I love the smaller stuff he does! Anyway, the performer junkie in me got an autographed book and T-shirt. Yeah! Didn't get to meet with him this time. But, maybe at the Warner Theater, I will! Who knows?
My thought of the day May 2nd 2001 It's about 12:30pm. I'm sick! Yuck! I hate being sick. Coughing, running nose, sneezing ...is there a doctor in the house. Actually, It's okay...I get well pretty fast. I've only been sick for the past two days. I have a show Friday and two on Saturday. I hope my nose isn't dribbling then. I'm sorry I didn't get to write since this past weekend. But, I do have lots of things going on. I did four shows and the one in NJ with RED HOT AND ROLLIN' turned out pretty good. It gave me some practice performing with other people. Though I was a bit rushed in my performing, it was alright. The drive up and back was the real killer, not the performing. Friday, my show at Jenn's (my assistant) school show went well. Saturday...was okay, Sunday had two shows, one for Giant Foods Corp. That was different. I walked around performing close up stuff and skated a bit. Then finished the weekend with a birthday party. It was a great show, and everyone was pleased. Even me! Well, I have to go run some errands.
