Past What's New for June 2002

	June 24th 2002 Monday again! My catch-up day and errand running! Lots of updates to the Web Shots Community Page. Added more photos I've taken of Caroline. New photos of Sean - Bike Boy were added. Those were digital, some scanned ones will be added soon. Oh, I added more to Houdini The Cat, and Show Photos. I also added some photos to some of the other folders. I Had a pretty busy weekend. Saturday, did a show then went to a Hawaiian Luau that a friend of mine (Loc Lee), had. He has some of the best parties and food. I performed walk-a-round close up magic and thoroughly amazed everyone, even myself. Sunday, I took it easy and slept in late, then went to Quiet Waters Park to Kayak. A few friends joined me there and we all went Kayaking in the Bay. It was great to be on the ocean and feel the sun, wind and waves. Mass e-mail News letter to be ready soon. 	June 20th 2002 Hello All! Well today was a beautiful and long day. Pretty productive in the magic world. The Show at Crown Theater in Annapolis went quite well. Though when I was setting my alarm last night to get up early I accidentally set the time and so I got up an hour later than I wanted to. Then there was a slight knock on the door, I got up and answered the door. It was Jyodi. I said,"You're early...how long have you been knocking?" and she said for about 20 min. Yikes! Well, I rushed...and left with in ten minutes. After the show, Jyodi & I practiced the Metamorphosis in another theater. She is getting starting to get it. It it really going to be hard for her (or anybody) to beat Caroline's speed. Yes, she is still on vacation. Be on the look out for a Karate-Combo Magic-Camp and One Day Mime Seminar very soon! I hope to be back at the Inner Harbor in the next week or so, because I really miss it. Many more photos will be added. Lots of scanning to do! 	June 19th 2002 Click Here for THE FAMILY FUN SERIES list of movies and dates you will see me live at the Crown Theaters at the Westfield Shopping Town - Annapolis Mall. Today's show went pretty well. I went to bed at about 3 AM, so, I was a little beat. There were a lot of people there that had seen me perform before. 	June 18th 2002 Free Movie! Free Movie! Free Magic! Free Magic! Jack's Back! Come see a free movie and a free mini magic show! For the next 8 weeks every Wed and Thurs at Crown Movie Theaters in the Annapolis Mall, I'll be doing a free "mini" magic show shortly before the movie starts at 9 AM. This is the third year in a row! The Family Fun Series is back! Mom & Dad, Families? Everyone? Give your self a vacation and enjoy some free movies! I got the list tonight, and it's really late, so I'll have the list, links and pages up hopefully tomorrow. Today was a beautiful day, I ran at the park, worked out...I feel Good! Night!
	June 17th 2002 Monday! This is a busy week coming. This past week was a bit slow. Did have too good of a weekend. Well, actually I did & didn't. The promo I did for 4 hours was okay. Saturday morning I had chatted with my wonderful friend Grace from Malaysia in a three way call with my best friend, Asbury, it was cool. The first time I did that. It was supposed to be a quick call. Anyway, I thought when I got off the phone it was about 10 o'clock. Not! It was 11:00 AM and I had to be there (which was one hour away) by noon! I never went so fast. I showered, shaved, made my EAS blender drink, fed the cats & birds, scooped the litter box and took off. I actually made it on time. But, guess what? I forgot quite a bit of close up magic. So I had to improvise a lot. Where was my brain? Don't get me wrong, I brought many things me that I always do, but, there were several "magic" things missing ... and I still can't find them. :o( Saturday after the show I went to "Barry's Magic Shop" and picked up some supplies. Then went to GNC to pick up some of my EAS supplies. Well, while at the mall, I went to see a friend that worked there. She's from Brazil, very beautiful -- should be a model -- and does photography. She was packed with taken photos. So I naturally entertained the group of people that were waiting. I did the "Kiss" card trick I taught Caroline, and bit the quarter like David Blain did on TV. Then saw a friend of mine I hadn't see in about a year. We played catch up(tell you more later). Then went to the movies to see, The Bourne Identity, which was good, and has sould out all weekend. When I got back to my truck...I found it was broken into...stuff was scattered all over the front seat. I was quite sad. o( Then I drove back home.It was about 3 AM. I stayed up to about 5 AM doing some catch up work.
	June 16th 2002 HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!! Wished my dad happy father's day, and called the Philippines to wish another close friend of mine's dad happy father's day. Don't know if it went well, her father's English isn't so good. I was quite lazy today. I needed to be! I did go see the new movie Wind Talkers, which was quite intense. :o)
	June 11th 2002 I did it! I finally went Kayaking with my new kayak today. It has gotten more use from the rain while sitting on the top of my truck than actually being in the water, if that makes sense. It was fun and I hope to do it again soon! I was out in the middle of the ocean reading a letter from my wonderful friend, Grace from Malaysia. I'm working hard on getting the video up this or next week. These will be samplers of about 30 sec to one min in length. I practiced my unicycling today. A bunch of kids showed up to watch me make a royal fool of myself. But it was fun. I will get it! Ohhh! Thanks Grace for the wonderful photos. :o)
	Jume 10th 2002 Well, my friend Jyodi helped me with my office work today to get my mass mailings ready. Then later asked,"Jack, today's my brothers birthday, do you think you could come over and do a few tricks?" How could I say no to a beautiful smile like that? His name is Denni and he turned thirteen. There were about 15 people there including parents. I did a full show. Jyodi helped a bit with getting ready. She may even be in a few shows...but, for now she's just helping out with office things and some show stuff.
	June 9th 2002 4:30 AM I just got back from Hanging out with Sean- Bike Boy. We told told our life stories, ate and watched "Ice Age" then I split and headed home. He's going to Boston, then back to London. We chatted about building a large show for Las Vegas.
	June 8th 2002 Good Morning! 6:00 AM...Got three shows today...see you soon, I'm going back to bed! :o) First two show were good, last one was okay...lots of people running around made it hard to set up on time and properly. But I was told that "everybody loved it" so I guess most of the time when I think the show isn't too bad, people still think it's good.
	June 7th 2002 Today's show? So was good, audience could have used some "life" but wasn't too bad. In the middle of the show, an egg broke in my pocket. Not a fun thing. forgot it was there. I felt it break when I bent over. Yuck-o! The day was okay...went by pretty fast.
	June 6th 2002 I really love it when the shows go so smoothly. Today was a fast day. gave Caroline a big hug good bye and wished her luck on her trip. Then zoomed home! When I got home you wouldn't believe what happen. I brought a few things up, opened my door, and there were my three cats to greet me ... and a little white dove next to them. That's right, a dove (the new baby) was at the front door with the cats to greet me. My heart fell, as I thought "Oh my God!" and checked to see if he was okay? The cats didn't seem to care this time or even bother him. Especially GiGi who is still at that, "Let me eat it!" stage. Nope they were all there waiting to greet me like it was out of some Disney animation. Watch, next time I get back, they'll be play poker. :o) I did some laundry, went to the gym...now sleepy time!
	June 5th 2002 It was a HOT day today at the Inner harbor. Caroline and I performed three shows only. It was our last performance at the Inner Harbor for a while. The last show didn't have a lot of people, but they tipped really well. I mean it was a good size, just not packed. Sean- Bike Boy has got one of the best street acts I have ever seen. I'll have a lot of photos of of this past week soon, so check back on my "Web Shots" page. I may have a new performing partner, but I will believe it when I see it and let you know. Special Thanks to a little old guy named "Smitty" who had taken lots of photos of us at the Inner Harbor. I will have his photos up soon, when I get a breath of air. Got three stage shows tomorrow. Good Night! If you ever get the chance to see good street theater show or performance please remember they are working. No one pays them but you, the audience. You are their paycheck. It's nice to be appreciated when we work so hard. And do avoid the pennies and 30 cent tips, it's an insult to the profession. A dollar or more is good. Most good street performers are worth $5 at least. So, there is a little street performers advice. If you watch the show tip!
	June 4th 2002 Good Morning! Well, it's really late or really early depending on how you look at it. I'm very tired, I almost crashed my truck because of falling asleep driving on my way home. Very close call, and my heart was beating very hard. Today was a busy show day at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. It was very hot! I wasn't really in to performing (lots of things on my mind) and some of you reading this many know what I'm talking about. Caroline and I shared our performing slot with Sean- Bike Boy so we had two performing time slots of three hours. But, his shows are much longer, so Caroline and I felt that we wouldn't make as much as if we did our own slot and more shows. I don't know, we may do it again tomorrow. I brought my Unicycle to practice, and I'm getting good! No, I still suck. But, by the end of the month, I will be good! In one of my shows, "Jasper" flew away and all I was thinking, not the water, please not the water. I really didn't feel like jumping into the Harbor after him. He ended up crashing into the bushes about 70 feet away. When I got him and brought him back, the audience clapped and cheered. There were lots of people who came to see us perform again. Repeat viewers, which I thought was cool . Thank you for coming back! After our 3rd show a thin tall guy came up and offered to take Caroline & myself out to dinner. We agreed (I asked him to ask Caroline) and we went to the Cheese Cake Factory (I think the best place to eat). Lots of really good food, all kinds, and Cheese Cake! It turns out this guy Josh was the sound engineer for a Kids Show that was touring the USA. He has done sound for many magicians, Like David Copperfield, Lance Burton, Black Stone Jr. and many, many other magicians & entertainers. He said he has seen a lot of bad acts and "mess-ups" and liked my version of the cut and restored rope trick. Yeah! Josh also does a lot of traveling and we chatted about a lot of things. Caroline left a little early to meet her parents who actually saw us perform our last show of the day at the Inner Harbor. I got to meet her father by accident. I pulled him out of the audience as one of the "guys" to padlock the trunk that I escape from in Metamorphosis. As I brought him down Caroline, came over and said to me,"That's my dad" with a big smile on her face. It was cool because it was the first time I met him. Well, shortly after Caroline left, I ordered the best tasting Cheese Cake ever. Then a waitress brought in a little cup cake looking thing with a candle on top and sang happy birthday to a gentleman next to us. Yes, I had to go over and do some magic for him and his date. I made a fork dance and rotate on the table with out touching it. Very cool to watch! Got the waitress and ripped up a sugar packet and restored it. It blew her away with big smiles. I told them I was performing "tomorrow" at the Amphitheater and they loved what I did and will try to come back to see us perform. I gave them my card and told them to check my calendar for other show dates. I'm very sleepy, good night! If there are major spelling errrrrrors, I'm too tired to check! 	June 3rd 2002 Monday! Monday! A busy day indeed. paid bills, booked some shows, went to the park and ran, got stuff for my Kayak, practiced a few new things and chatted a bit to a wonderful friend in Malaysia who is trying to see if she can get me some bookings there. I updated my calendar and have a few new dates set for June. Click Here!
	June 2nd 2002 Hello! I just got back from seeing "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" which was pretty good, and funny! Well, this has been a very busy & hard past week. I performed at the Inner Harbor and Friday at the Inner Harbor I met two very cool performers. One was Sean Bridges, a performance artist known as Bike Boy from Australia and the other was Jenny the Juggler from Boston and new tot he street performing world. They were pretty good from what I saw. I spent some time with them and we're gonna share some time slots this week. This past weekend I did five shows, and all were good. Caroline will be started her full time job in a month. I feel very sad that I'm losing the best performing partner I've ever had. This is the last week we are doing the Inner Harbor together. Then she will be going on vacation. I'm really sad about the whole thing, and am going to miss her performing with me. A lot! I may put the Metamorphosis in the closet for a while, I don't know. So, in many way I'm gonna be heart broken with out her company. We had great chemistry when performing on stage, and many people told us we perform well together. :o(
