What's New
Past What's New For May 2002 - part 2

May 27th 2002 Memorial Day! I'm off today...yeah! Hello to Grace! I just want to
say thank you!!! :o) I'm going Kayaking. My dad got me a Kayak for my B'day (belated) and so I'm going to try and
check it out. I have no clue where to store it. It's almost bigger than my apartment. I will let you know. This
week is a very big performing week. We have about 25 shows to perform at the Inner Harbor and others on the weekend. |
 |
May 26th 2002 Today was one of those days that looked like it could rain any time, but at the same time
was sunny and beautiful out. Make any sense? I had a show today, and it was pretty local. not too far outside of
the Annapolis area. It was in Cape St. Clair, which is near the Bay Bridge off of Rt. 50. East. Anyway, the show
was a success, and Happy Birthday to Matt who turned 7 today! It was a really
nice family, great bunch of kids. The mom was so surprised her son came out of his shell and helped me in the show.
It was a Harry Potter Party, with all the Hog Warts potions and treats. I stayed and hung out a few with the family
for a bit. As I was loading things into my truck, I mentioned something about the boat they had in their yard,
and about sailing. Their response was,"You want it? It's been sitting there..." I looked at it and thought,"Wow!"
There is a story that goes into it...and I may write it. But, for now, I will find out what to do, and give
you more details later, okay? Later, I saw Star Wars, it was pretty good. The scenes, and special effects were
phenomenal. Good Night! |

May 25th 2002 I'm really, really, really tired. Really! I'm sleeping all day! |

May 24th 2002 Today is Caroline's Graduation Party! Wish her luck! She is going to perform for the first
time for all her friends that come to the party. We're going to do a small show inside, then the Metamorphosis
outside. She's even going to perform a trick she learned. It's also the first time her mom and sister get to see
what the big secret is. I made her a little Graduation Gift Bag of goodies for her new journey into the world.
Someof the things were, a palm pilot, little cookbook, homemade card, and photo art printed on canvas. Click here to see the Grad u wit art I created for her.
2:50 AM. The Graduation Party was a success for Caroline! The show was perfect, and everything worked out fine.
Her trick was a hit! Her mom had a lot of fun, too! I did the "Bra" trick on her. She laughed up a storm.
Her friends really seemed to have enjoyed it. They were smiling and if made me really think about doing the College
tour. Keep an eye out for us if it happens. Here friends were really nice and I liked them a lot. Her friend that
I met at Fells Point in the Inner Harbor was there. Some of her friends made me a few shooters. Don't worry, I
was sobor. I was there for almost 7 hours, so when I left I was okay. I did gett o dance with her mom and spend
some time meeting her friends. Then I drove home and here I am typing liking a fool. I need sleep! If there are
any spelling errrrrors, forgive me. |

May 23rd 2002 What a beautiful day it was. Today I went and saw Caroline's Graduation at the Baltimore Arena.
It was really nice, hundreds of people. I didn't get to see Caroline and her family before or after like I was
hoping to, cause wanted to take some photos of her in her Graduation gown. I at least got to see her in the front
row facing the stage. I yelled like some crazed fan to get her attention. She looked, waved and smiled often for
the camera. I got her getting her diploma, then shortly after that, I had to leave, because it was getting late
and I had to head back home. I wish I could have stayed, but called and left a message on her machine...I got the
pics I took, they looked good! |

May 22nd 2002 Hello! Hello! Hello! Well, I got back a little while ago from performing at the Amphitheater
in The Baltimore Inner Harbor. It was great! Big audiences and lots of tips! We only performed for less than two
hours and raked in what we made on day we performed for three hours. Schools out for some, so there is more people,
more families! In the first show I really want to strangle a few young teens who thought it was pretty cool to
heckle even before we started. Little smart-asses. I won't go into detail of what they were saying, and it's not
worth the space here. But, after they knew I and the audience wasn't going to tolerate them, eventually (before
the show really got started) they left. Caroline and I were running on empty today (lack of sleep). She's done
her finals, and Graduates tomorrow! But, all shows went very well inspire of our sleeplessness. There was a girl
there with her family that knew Caroline from school. They were from the Philippines and said they loved the show.
Faye, the daughter said she lives close by and had seen other performers and they didn't impress her like we did.
She said we were more entertaining and performed for everyone, not just the kids. Caroline even did a trick she
learned to them. I also got my usual remarks about how similar I am to Robin Williams. "Hey, did anyone ever
tell you...?" Only every show I do. It's nice to here the first few million times, then it gets boring. Several
people also commented on the fact that we are the only act that did what we do, Magic! One gentlemen said, "I
never seen anything like you guys before, that box trick was something!" got some video of the Metamorphosis
today! Yeah! Okay, I'm gone for now! Ohhh! I gave Caroline some flowers for Graduation! Nite! |
 |
May 21st 2002 I ran at the park today, it was beautiful in the morning. The blue Angels were practicing.
Because of space and length of this month's What's New, I had to cut some of it off because it was getting
way too long. But never fear, if you still want to read the rest of the What's New for this month you can!
But, it will be in two parts, okay? |

May 19th 2002 Sunday night! I'm going to bed early! Yes, I'm not staying up too late this time. I need to
get some real sleep. I have been cat napping a lot. The Show went well this weekend. Caroline is becoming the perfect performing partner. The show was at the "German School"
in Potomac, Maryland. I taped it and I may have some video from it to put up. There was one part of the show that
I had never experienced before. During my version of the cut & restore rope trick, I have three people
help. Well, there was one little girl who really was quite feisty and had a mouth on her. There was a part of the
trick where I picked her up and slid her over a few feet and sat her down again. The first thing that came out
of her mouth was, "Not the hair!" and then, "watch touch the hair." I was really at a loss,
cause not little 8 year old kid ever said that before. Most are smiling or happy or into what I'm doing. She was
worried about her hair. It was a funny moment for the audience I'm sure, because they were laughing. I handled
it pretty cool I think. We sold a few Jack Julius shirts after the show, then packed up. Did you know Caroline had another talent, the Piano? Yes, and she is really good. There was one there, and
she was playing it after we packed everything. I was stunned and how good she was! She could really play! After
we left the school we made a pit stop at Barry's Magic Shop for a few supplies and Caroline found a blond wig to
try on. She looked pretty cool in it. I did manage to get a few photos of her wearing the wig. I also go her a
new magic effect to learn. On the way back to Annapolis, she practiced a card trick that I showed her. She's gotten
quite good at it. We ran a few errands and she checked on a few things for her Graduation Party for the 24th of
May. Then she went home, and I went to bed. I did get up later and go see, About A Boy, with Hugh Grant. It was
really good! Good Night! |

May 17th 2002 Friday Morning! Sorry I haven't written much lately. I Haven't been in the mood. My head
has been spinning, and really busy with many things. I have been a little down lately. I know, it hard to believe
me being down in any way, but I'm human, also. So, I can feel down at times just like the rest of the world. Forgive
me if I haven't posted new thoughts or photos or show dates. I will soon. I'm off to run. Caroline is in Finals. Good Luck to her. I was to perform at the Inner Harbor today, but won't
because she won't be able to perform with me. Well, I must go...
The Sunglasses!
I almost forgot to tell you what happened this past week! It must have been my week for
finding things. I found a bracelet that a friend of my lost on Mother's Day. And this week, Caroline came down,
we were going to practice. But, since it was a nice day, we went to Quiet Waters Park to do some photos for her
family. Yes, I do photography also!
Well, it didn't turn out as planned and we never got to practice. But, here is what happened.
We got some photos taken, then she changed outfits. We went to a bridge that crossed over a pond. It was really
pretty and perfect for many of the shots we wanted to get. Well, I got down on the side next to the pond looking
up to the little bridge crossing the pond. As I was getting ready, Caroline said,"Ohh No! I just dropped my
glasses. I lost my grip and they just fell out of my hand..." I looked up."What?" And she told me
again. I told her it was going to be hard to get them now. She was determined to get them. "No, they aren't
regular sunglasses, they are from London, they're sentimental...I know it's stupid, but I can't leave until I get
them..."
Yes, these are the same glasses she wore here
She looked very sad like a lost puppy. I felt really bad. She wanted to call someone,
get a net and try to scoop them out. It was really swampy and muddy, and the chances were slim. Well, the sun was
going down and we didn't have much time to get them back. So, I started to go into the pond, hanging on to the
bridge underneath. I took a step in, new running shoes and shorts. It was freaking cold!!! I got to a certain point
and I couldn't go any further, I was sinking. Well, I got out and told her it was impossible to find her glasses.
It was really muddy, swampy and you couldn't see a thing. Well, I called some friends,
no luck. So, we stopped off at Marine Store and I got an underwater flashlight. Then went home got a sea nettle
suit on, some underwater goggles and my water shoes. We zoomed back to the pond where I attempted one more time
to fetch her, London Sun Glasses.
The water was freezing cold. I moved to the spot where I was earlier. I tried to use
the flashlight, but no luck, the water was just too muddy and filled with algae. I slowly sunk into the water until
I was almost under. I was going to go under the water and try and feel my way around, when I had an idea. I started
to feel around with my feet. Then I felt something, but wasn't sure what it was, so I crouched down as low as I
could go. my hands were touching my feet. I reached under my foot were the object was. It was Caroline's glasses!
It was a miracle. That was a one in a million shot. After coming out and feeling ice cold and like the Swamp Thing,
Caroline said, "I owe you my soul...that's all I got left to give." As I walked over the bridge to the
bathroom to change, I heard Caroline say," I can see your underwear..." I smiled, then ran to the bathroom
to change. The things I do for people!

May 13th 2002 Monday! well, I just got back from running at the park, felt great.Got lots of catching up
to do. Also, may new things to be added to the web site soon! |

May 12th 2002 Happy Mother's Day! My mom is in heaven , so I just say hi
up there. This was a so so weekend. I did a few shows on Saturday. Caroline wasn't with me. I really missed her.
She's really starting to make the show. The shows this weekend were okay. I did one show at Sandy Point Park, near
the Bay Bridge. Afterwards, I walked along the beach. It was so beautiful out. Then later went and visited a friend,
owner of East Coast Martial Arts karate school, where I practice for my shows, and do martial arts. You can even
plan a birthday party there. Anyway, today was beautiful out. I ran at Quiet Waters Park in the morning, and went
back to the park in the afternoon and hung out with a few friends and flew kites (really big professional types).
It was cool, I hadn't flown a kite since I was kid. Slow weekend. I'm really tired, and I got a lot of sun, ouch!
So I must go now and say good night! |

May 8th 2002 Today was a pretty busy one. It really feels great to exercising again. I worked out the
other night and I was happy to lift weights again. Today I did my running at the park in the morning. Then got
ready for the shows at the Baltimore
Inner Harbor. Caroline and I performing at the Amphitheater. We started a bit later than planned because of
parking problems. We had lots of families with kids, many foreign students and a few pretty big crowds. The shows
were fun as usual. But the weather was really crappie, rainy, windy and got cold really fast. But, before it got
too bad, we ran for about 35 minutes around the harbor. I told her I'd run with her, didn't have any running shoes,
so I skated (cause I always carry my skates). But I really wanted to run, so we ran (I skated) to the Gallery Mall, ran barefoot up the escalators (no skating in the Mall) to Foot Locker and got
some running shoes. I needed some badly and this was a good excuse as any. They had a two-for sale, so Caroline
got a pair also. We ran back to the truck, dropped off the skates and her "old" shoes and ran for about
40 min. Ate a quick meal at Phillip's Seafood (next to the Bicentennial Plaza where we perform). It was great!
Then Caroline had to rush back
to school to finish her web site project she has been crunching on. I thought I was busy, shew! I think it's pretty
cool. Click here to check
out Caroline Low's Road Trip of Life! I took the wonderful photo
of her in the suit. She is a total natural and really does make me look good. I'm sure I could fill up this page
about her. But, come down to the Baltimore Inner Harbor and watch us perform, you'll see what I'm talking about.
