2012 Calendar of Events

February      Sweetheart Special at Inn The Gardens.  Bring your sweetheart to the beach for two nights in February. Special includes  sparkling drink and fresh flowers. March 31 & April 1 - Holiday Celebration of Fine arts & Crafts - 10 am -5pm at the Music Pier.  $3.00 contribution supports area charities.

April 7  Woffin' Paws Pet Fashion Show at Carey Stadium @ 11:00am, Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, Great Egg Hunt 11th to 14th Street at 2:30, Free photos of the Easter bunny in a lifeguard stand and eggstra special savings all along Asbury Avenue. 

April 8   Easter Sunrise Service by the sea @ 6:30 am by the music pier, then Easter fashion promenade at 1pm.

April 14  Doo Dah Parade - Goodbye to tax season with this comedy parade with over 500 basset hounds.  12 Noon on Asbury ave and then up to the boardwalk ending at the Music Pier.  Earthday Celebration - City Hall Annex from 10am -2pm.  Environmental exhibits, green give-aways, childrens activaties and more.

April 28  Citywide Yard Sale - at Tabernacle Grounds 8am - 1pm. 

May       Create your own Mothers Day Package or Gals Getaway at Inn The Gardens.  

May 5   Spring Block Party 9:00am to 5:00pm, over 350 crafters, food, vendors & music!

May 12 & 13  Mothers Day Weekend - Flower give away to all moms at participating Boardwalk and downtown stores, and Inn The Gardens guests!  

May 19 American Heart Assoc Heartwalk -Civic Center, 6th & Boardwalk, begins at 10:30am

May 20  Ocean City Triathlon/Duathlon-  Swim/run/bike course, plus a kids course.  For more information call 609 525-9304

May 28    Memorial Day Service - 11am at Veteran's Memorial Park, 5th & Wesley.

June        Create your own Fathers Day Package at Inn The Gardens.

June 1-3  Flower Show- come see beautiful displays at the Music Pier 2pm to 9:00pm Friday & Saturday, Sunday 10-4pm. 

June 7  Wonder's Birthday Bash at Gillian's Wonderland Pier - Celebrate Wonder Bears Birthday from 6-10:30pm.  All rides only 1 ticket and a fireworks show at 9:00pm.  Celebrating 82 years on the Ocea city Boardwal!

June 13  Miss New Jersey - Boardwalk Parade at 7pm

June16  Johnsons Popcorn Fathers Day Family Fun Fest- Face painters, bands, magicians and pony rides at 11th st. 1-3pm on the boardwalk.

June 23    Antique Auto Show - over 300 vintage vehicles.  Tabernacle grounds 9 - 2pm, Boardwalk parade after 2 pm.

July & August;    In Season rates at Inn The Gardens 

Sundays; 

•  Character nights on the boardwalk.  Characters will sign autographs in front of the Music Pier at 7pm., a Surrey Parade will follow at 7:30.  Come join the fun and meet all the Ocean City Boardwalk Merchants' Mascots!

Tuesdays;

• Funtastic Tuesdays 10 to 1pm on Asbury Ave.  Face Painters, baloon sculptors, and Entertainment.  
•  Mummers Night - strutting 7 - 9pm on the boardwalk, 6th - 14th sts.
• Beach walks - 9:00 am at the South End location (59th St @ Central) or 6:30 pm at the North end location OC/Longport Bridge Parking Lot.

Wednesdays;

•  Farmers Market at the Tabernacle Grounds every Wednesday 8 to 1:00pm. 
• Crafters in Firehouse parking lot on 6th Street from 8am-1pm 
•  Beach walks - 9:00 am at the North End Location ( OC/Longport Bridge Parking Lot), or 6:30 pm at the South End location (59th St @ Central). 

 Thursdays;

• Family Fun Nights on Boardwalk 7:30 to 9:30 pm on the Boardwalk.
• Inn to Inn Tours meeting on 7th & Central Ave at 2pm. 
• Market Days, 10 - 1pm Asbury Ave., entertainment, face painters, balloon sculptors.

July 4  Fourth of July Festivities.  Kite flying, bike parade & Fireworks!

July 11   Sand Sculpting Contest 6th Street beach @ 9:00 am

July 21   Summer Festival of Fine Arts & Crafts from 10 to 5pm at Carey Stadium & Civic Center.  Over 250 juried crafters, artists, photographers and gourmet food specialists.

July 27    Merchants in Venice Seafood Festival on Asbury Ave . Seafood, entertainment and rides from 5 to 9:00pm. 

July 28          Night in Venice.  The city's annual boat parade is one of the largest in the world!

August 1      Sand Sculpting Contest 9 am at 6th Street beach  

August 3-5         50th Annual Boardwalk Art Show from 10-6 Fri & Sat, until 4pm Sun.

August 7    Annual Pamper Scamper.  Annual baby crawling race on the 6th St. Beach.

August 9     103rd Annual Baby Parade - one of the oldest baby parades in the country!

                        Twin Contest at the Music Pier 6:30 pm.

September 1  Second Season rates begins at Inn The Gardens.  In season rates for Labor Day Weekend.

September 7-9 Street Rod Weekend.  Classic cars on display from 12 -4pm.

September 15   Ocean City Air Festival at the Municipal Airport 10 to 3:00pm.  Unusual airplanes ranging from World War II to classics and warbirds.  

September 16   Aerobatic Air Show with some of the best stunt pilots in the world.  Over Ocean City boardwalk from 6th to 14th street from 1 to 3 p.m.           

September 23  Corvette Show - over 350 cars exhibited.  One of the largest shows of its kind.  Displayed on Boardwalk 11:30 - 4:00pm.

September 29  MS Bike-a-thon.  Over 7000 bikers raise over $3million for the MS Society.

   Citywide yardsale at Tabernacle grounds and homes throughout town 8 - 1pm

Quiet Season rates begin at Inn The Gardens B & B  

October 6 -8 Indian Summer Weekend - Seafood vendors at the Music Pier and boardwalk table sales. 

October. 6    Fall Block Party and fireworks spectacular.  Over 400 crafters, food vendors, music, etc.  In the evening, family night entertainment on the boardwalk & fireworks at 9:30pm

October 20 & 21 Free Hayrides on the Boardwalk.

October 25   Halloween Parade on Asbury Ave from 6th to 11th St at 7:15pm

November 3  Trail of two Cities -Run/Walk over the 9th St. Bridge from Somers Point to Ocean City.

November 11   Veteran's Day Program - 11 am at Veteran's Memorial Park.

November 10 & 11, 17 & 18  Christmas Arts & Crafts Festival at the Music Pier 10 - 5:00pm. $3 contribution benefits local charities.

November 23 Christmas in the Downtown - Our Miracle on Asbury Avenue" 2pm -5pm.  Join the merchants and chamber in kicking off an old- fashioned Downtown Christmas.

November 24 & 25  Breakfast with Santa 8:30-11:30 at a down town restaurant, photos with Santa at the Music Pier from 12pm to 3pm.

December 1 & 2    Train show on the music Pier 11 - 4pm. 

December 1,2,8,9,15 &16  FREE Horse & Carriage Rides 12 to 3pm in front of City Hall.  Photos with Santa at the music Pier 12 to 3pm.  Breakfast with Santa every weekend at a different downtown restaurant 8:30 to 11:30.

December 7,14, & 21 Friday Night Hospitality Nights in the Downtown from 5-8pm.  Free horse & carriage rides, evening shopping specials, carolers, music, Santa & more!

December 31    First Night New Years Eve Celebration with a complete schedule of events leading up to fireworks at midnight.  www.firstnightocnj.com.  

       January 1, 2013  First day at the Beach with the annual 5k Boardwalk Run at 1pm then Polar Bear Swim at 2pm.  Shopping extravaganza on Asbury Avenue from 11 to 4pm.
