2009 Calendar of Events

February      Sweetheart Special at Inn The Gardens.  Bring your sweetheart to the beach for two nights in February. Special includes fresh flowers, sparkling cider & chocolate. (mention this special at time of reservation). 

April 11  Woffin' Paws Pet Fashion Show at Carey Stadium @ 11:00am, Breakfast with the Easter Bunny , Great Egg Hunt 11th to 14th Street at 2:30. 

April 12 Sunrise Service  by the sea @6:00am by the music pier, Easter Fashion Promenade at the Music Pier at 1:00pm.

April 18  Doo Dah Parade - Say goodbye to tax season with this comedy parade.  over 500 basset hounds.  Begins at 12 noon at Asbury Ave, and ends at the music pier.

April 19 Family End to End Bike Tour - from the south end of Ocean City around the island ending at the earth Day Celebration at the Bayside Center.  Earth Day Celebration at Bayside Center has entertainment, environmental exhibits, refreshments and more from 12 noon -4pm

April 25 Citywide Yard Sale at Tabernacle Grounds 8 to 12 noon. 

May       Create your own Mothers Day Package or Gals Getaway at Inn The Gardens.  

May 2    Spring Block Party 9:00am to 5:00pm, over 350 crafters, food, vendors & music! 

May 9 & 10 Mothers will recieve flowers on these two days at participating Boardwalk and downtown stores. 

May 15-17 Wellness Weekend - learn ways to embark on a healthy lifestyle at the music pier. American Heart Walk on Sunday - Civic Center, 6th & Boardwalk, begins at 10:30am

May 25      Memorial Day Service - 11am at Veteran's Memorial Park, 5th & Wesley.

May 30 & 31 Boardwalk Spring Family Fun Fest - Juried craft show, face painters, bands, poney rides at 11th St. 9am to 6pm.

June        Create your own Fathers Day Package at Inn The Gardens. 

June thru Sept.  Motivational and Inspirational Speakers at The Tabernacle. www.octab.org .

June 5-7     Flower Show- come see beautiful displays at the Music Pier 2 to 9:00pm Friday & Saturday. 

June 17-20      Miss New Jersey Pagent,  Boardwalk Parade on the 17th.  Preliminary competitions and finals at the Music Pier.

June 27     Antique Auto Show - over 300 vintage vehicles.  Tabernacle grounds, Boardwalk parade after 2 pm.

July & August

 Tuesdays 10 to 1pm on Asbury Ave.  Face Painters, baloon sculptors, and Entertainment.  Family Fun Night Films at Cornerstone Auditorium every Tuesday evening.  Radio Disney Tuesdays at 11 & Boardwalk at 7:30 pm.  Meet Radio Disney personalities and cast members.  Music, dances, contests and give aways.

Wednesdays Farmers Market at the Tabernacle Grounds every Wednesday 8 to 1:00pm.  Downtown by night - evening shopping, music, dining, & shopping specials.

Thursdays  Market Days from 10 to 1pm on Asbury Ave.

July 4            Fourth of July Festivities.  Kite flying, bike parade & Fireworks!

July 5         The Philadelphia Organ Quartet will bring in three more organs and surround auditorium with a spectacular concert.  Admission is free. 7pm at the Ocean City Tabernacle

July 8            Sand Sculpting Contest 6th Street beach @ 9:00 am

July 18          Huge Summer Arts & Crafts Spectacular 10 to 5at the Civic Center.  Over 250 juried crafters, artists, photographers and gourmet food specialists.

July 24        Merchants in Venice Seafood Festival on Asbury Ave . Seafood, entertainment and rides from 5 to 9:00pm. 

July 25          Night in Venice.  The city's annual boat parade is one of the largest in the world!

August 5         Sand Sculpting Contest 9 am at 6th Street beach  

August 7-9         46th Annual Boardwalk Art Show 

August 11      Annual Pamper Scamper.  Annual baby crawling race on the 6th St. Beach.

August 13      100th Annual Baby Parade - one of the oldest baby parades in the country!

                        Twin Contest at the Music Pier 6:30 pm.

September 1  Second Season rates begins at Inn The Gardens. 

September 11  September 11th Ceremony - 11:00 am at Veterans Memorial Park, all are invited.

September 11-13   Street Rod Weekend.  Classic cars on display.

September 19    Ocean City Air Festival at the Municipal Airport 10 to 3:00pm.  Unusual airplanes ranging from World War II to classics and warbirds.

September 19 & 20    Boardwalk Fall Family Funfest - juried craft show, face painters, bands and more!

September 20   Boardwalk Aerobatic Airshow 1 to 3pm.  Thrill to some of the best stunt pilots and aerobatic champions in the world!                      

September 27    Corvette Show on the Boardwalk  Over 350 cars exhibited 11:30 to 4pm

October 3    MS Bike a thon- over 7000 bikers raise over 3 million to treat Multiple Sclerosis and provide services to clients.

October 3      Citywide Yard Sale at Tabernacle and throughout the city 8 to 12:00 noon.  

October 3 & 4     Annual Boardwalk Car Show - some of the auto industry's newest models on the boardwalk throughout the weekend.

October 10-12   Indian Summer Weekend - Seafood vendors at the Music Pier and boardwalk table sales. 

October. 10      Fall Block Party with over 400 crafters, food vendors, music, etc.

November 14 & 15, 21 & 22  Christmas Arts & Crafts Festival at the Music Pier 10 - 5:00pm. $3 contribution benefits local charities.

November 27   Old Fashion Christmas on Asbury Avenue 12 - 6pm.  Late night shopping, free entertainment, refreshments, gift certificate giveaways, dining and shopping specials all weekend long!  Christmas parade at 7pm from 6th to 11th street.  Santa Clause is coming to town!

November 28 & 29  Photos with Santa at the Music Pier 12 to 3:00pm.

December 5 & 6    Train show on the music Pier 11 - 4pm.

December 5,6,12,13,19 & 20  FREE Horse & Carriage Rides 12 to 3pm in front of City Hall.  Photos with Santa at the music Pier.

December 19   Breakfast with Santa at the Chatterbox 9 to noon, Carolfest at the Music Pier 7:30 pm.

December 31    First Night New Years Eve Celebration with a complete schedule of events leading up to fireworks at midnight.  www.firstnightocnj.com.  

       January 1, 2009  First day at the Beach with the annual 5k Boardwalk Run at 1pm then Polar Bear Swim at 2pm.  Shopping extravaganza on Asbury Avenue from 11 to 4pm.
