Before I make any corrections to the book prose I need to make a singular legal correction according to the American Board of Internal Medicine. Apparently the law has changed taking away my board certification. So, I need to change anything in the book or anything on this web site that mentions "board certification." I can no longer say I am board certified because my license was never restored. Thus, I must reverse anything said in my book or on this web site that says I am board certified in internal medicine or nephrology. I can no longer say I am board certified and must reverse anything in the book or on the web site that says such. (July 10, 2010). Make this correction in all books and the web site.

Add Glossary word: assholes with power (from inside cover) - Someone with either psychiatric, academic, administrative, political or legal power over a person (addict) who imposes on the addict what they think is "best for the addict" against their will and rationalized by a bogus justification. Taken from the movie, NUTS, starring Barbara Streisand. To the shrink who wanted to have the judge commit her because a nice jewish girl shouldn't be a prostitute she said, "You can't make me nuts just because you say I'm nuts."

Bottom of page 14. After They are all Hypoics. I list them here to preemptively raise your awareness about them even if I mention them in other parts of the book and that they are all part of this same Hypoism paradigm, caused by the same pathophysiology, genetic low reward activity in the instinct regulating apparatus. These diverse and confusing entities have been called distinct diseases but they are not. They are all symptoms of Hypoism as are all addictions: Pediatric Hypoism – ADHD and ADD, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, people addiction (Oprah as the prototype) and domestic violence pairs, pedophilia, internet addiction, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (multiple plastic surgeries), gangs, compulsive shopping, con artists, religious fanaticism, and obesity.

Page 23.   Delete the M.D. from Joseph Califano, M.D. He’s a lawyer impersonating a doctor! (likewise, anywhere in the text that you see Dr. before Califano’s name, erase it. In the index under letter C. remove M.D. from Califano’s name.)

All this results in the recovery program for the disease of Hypoism. And, this is where we need to deal with the issue of real prevention of addictions. The same recovery program used to recover from existing addictions is also used to prevent addictions in children with the disease of Hypoism who have never had an addiction. This lowers the bottom for recognition of and recovery from this disease to day one. Once we learn how to diagnose kids born with this disease, either through genetics or behavioral manifestations specific for Hypoism, such as ADHD and ADD, these kids enter Hypoism recovery and use the recovery program exactly in the same way as addicts with this disease. This will be an all inclusive program and deal with all aspects of this disease, including those youngsters who have yet to get addicted. This is real prevention and the only means of prevention, actual recovery from the disease in those with and without addicts, but all with the disease of Hypoism. Hopefully, eventually, we will no longer have to deal with addictions, only pre-addictions, the disease before addictions have occurred. This, of course, is the goal of the Hypoism paradigm.
