When Does a Series of Coincidences Become A Phenomenon Instead?

   We have had more than a solid month of revelations spilling from the now two rovers exploring the Martian landscape, not to mention the spectacularly beautiful pictures coming from the ESA Satallite in orbit around the red planet and still NASA has (not "no comments" because that implies that they have at least paid enough attention to the continuous stream of discovered objects coming from their photographs to actually say "...no comment..."), studiously ignored the pleas of now hundreds of people examining these photos, to pay some attention, at least photgraphically, to those "anomolous shapes" that appear in the panoramas.

I am reminded of a frightened man whistling through a graveyard as he studiously ignores the signs of the supernatural all around him. There is nothing here but these stones on the ground, never mind that they are carved and intelligently designed, they are still just rocks.

Human Imagineering's study of these photos has, if anything intensified to include those coming from the Opportunity rover on the opposite side of the planet. Interestingly enough, there seems to be nearly as much evidence of intelligent life on the red planet on that side as there is under the treads of Spirit in the Gusev crater. Mars it seems is littered with evidence not of microscopic life, but rather intelligent, animus habilis, handy animals capable of carving stone and manufacturing complex technological instruments of one kind or another.

   The question that the title of this piece asks is a fair and important one. My own search of these photo's has turned up at least 12 impressions in the photos that bear the characteristics of stone carved to resemble faces, heads, or totems. Additionally, there are well over 30 objects, throughout these photos that bear the characteristics of manufactured objects, that is in addition to the 12 faces. That is upwards now of 40 objects in these panaramas that call to us to investigate closely to which NASA seems oblivious if not intentionally blind. So, at what point do these coincidental resemblances to manufactured objects become numerous enough to qualify as a "phenomenon" begging an investigation?

In order to reinforce these calls for investigation this column will continue to explore these items independantly of NASA until NASA decides to investigate themselves. However, now we will not limit ourselves to an examination of those objects that appear to have a personal resemblance but we will examine objects throughout these pictures that have "unusual" appearances, given their contexts. So, the degree and length of these columns, at this point is going to depend on what we find and how we present those findings over the period that the rovers are doing their work.

So, without further ado, let us begin, once again, our systematic examination of the next 6 faces in the sands of Mars. Additionally, we will also give an intense investigation of what appears to be a flagstone temple floor near the Opportunity rover that is being described by NASA as a "rock outcropping". We will let the readers and examiners of these photos draw their own conclusions once they have seen them.

This first series of pictures comes from close to the "slot rock" several closeups of which have been sent back showing Spirit examining the rock:

   The next series is located down and to the left of the above and consists of what appears to be several fragmentary facial carvings -

   The third series comes now from the other side of mars in the "rock outcropping" that Opportunity is ostensibly exploring. These too have some sharp, personal resemblances, which is odd considering their context:

 What is remarkable about these images is not so much that they resemble a face but the actual face they resemble is remarkably similar to those drawings of aliens that we frequently see in the stories of alien abductions.  This makes one wonder if what we are actually seeing here might not be a form of graphitti in stone, a sort of "Kilroy was here" signature. Also of interest here is the small object in the lower right quadrant of this photo. This object appears to have a base up from which two sections angle off the ground, one end shaped broadly like a delta and the other like a Y. This is reminiscent of no stone that I can think of and I am almost certain a real geologist will have a similarly difficult time assigning a mineral designation to this object. But, let us move on:

The object that follows is interesting in two respect. First it has a distinctly bustlike appearance, and secondly it appears to rest in an alcove of stone that does not share its roughly oval shape. The question becomes what is the stone itself, an intelligently carved object that was set in an alcove that has since lost major portions of its shape to wind and wear, or a large stone oval that was picked up by the thin Martian wind and set into an alcove of stone? We will let the viewer decide:

Now, this image has been remarkably difficult to outline because of the indistinction and poor resolution. However, the colorized closeup on the right shows the facial features more clearly than the black and white on the left. However, the black and white details a feature which almost certainly marks this stone as a carving. Notice the bisecting crest that lies across the top of the carving, its near uniform height from the start of the crest on the forehead to its disappearance in the occipital area. It is impossible for any reasonable person to believe that such a uniform feature can be carved in such minute detail by a wind that does nothing of any such detail in the rock features surrounding it.

So, now we have seen a total of twelve features, on two different sides of Mars that carry the distinct and unlikely qualities of intelligently carved faces, busts, masks and totems. That, of course, is phenomenal and the fact that NASA has apparently not approached any of them in an attempt to get a closer look can only raise questions, not provide answers. The fact they studiously do not comment on these findings is also somewhat suspicious. But let us examine some of the findings in these pictures that are not apparently carved, but likewise do not resemble stone objects.

I have already made reference in these articles to those findings made by the Enterprise Mission website and will not re-examine those articles here. However, I will again refer the reader to this website at http://www.enterprisemission.com for a close examination of some fifteen to twenty objects in the Spirit rover debris field. Here we will examine some objects in the Opportunity "rock outcropping" that, although not in the nature of carved figurines, do bear the appearance of having been carved, or manufactured. First, a series of objects that appear to rest on the top of the rock outcropping over on the right hand side of the panoramic view:

Now, the nominal title I have given to these objects will have an explanation in just a few words. However, the note the reader must take here is the unusual shapes of these objects, all arranged in what appears to be a row. First, they are not commonly produced naturally occuring shapes (a rough rectangle, an oval and what appears to be a stylized spiral around a central hub); secondly, to find all of them, so fundamentally different set in what appears to be a row of objects is highly indicative of their artifactual vs. natural appearance. I will admit that I have no idea what these are, or what their real function may have been at one time.

What I will say, unequivocally is that I challenge any scientist anywhere in this country, or the world to offer a plausible, scientific, natural explanation for these objects. Now we will travel to the other side of this "stone outcropping" and find the reason why I have called these objects "temple utensils"...

I have called this the "Flagstone Temple Floor". First note the three stones that are lined up. They carve an almost perfect quarter arc not only on their top portions, but also on their lower portions. That means that their fit is proportional top and bottom. Secondly, the first and second stones from left to right show strong evidence of carved, fluted rims. There is little doubt this fluting carrys from one stone to the other. Finally in the lower left quadrant there appears to be the remains of a wall projecting above the soil in a straight line towards the flagstones above it. This structure bears a remarkable resemblence in its fluting to some Greek Temple carved marble and leaves no doubt in my mind that this structure was originally laid in this position and not carved by "wind".

Finally, if the reader directs his or her attention to the right hand side of photo number two above there appear some objects lying on this stone "plateau" that clearly do not appear to be either stone, or naturally occuring objects:

 I honestly cannot make any speculations as to what these objects might be. They do not resemble any particular objects of which I am aware. What I do know is that they do not likewise resemble any stone objects of which I am aware that occur without intelligent design. Their internal geometry is simply consistant with manufactured rather than naturally carved objects.

Lastly, there is an object in this panorama that is so clearly not a carving of wind and rain that it begs the imagination to determine what it actually is. It is located to the right of the lander Opportunity's original at rest position between about one third of the way up the dune towards the top in an area that looks largely featureless. This feature however is truly remarkable.

It is probably a misnomer to call this an "unnatural object". It could in fact be a naturally occuring object, such as a bone, or the exoskeleton of some kind of animal or possibly even a coral. What it most decidedly is not is a "wind carved piece of stone". First it is lying atop the sand, not under it, secondly, its shape is entirely too intricate to have been carved by any wind that was not itself nearly microscopic in its direction and force. Again, I won't pretend to know what it is, only that it is evidence of something greater than microscopic life of some form on this planet.

So, in conclusion it appears that Mars is a world littered with the evidence of its own past and that litter appears to consist of large numbers of what appear to be manufactured and carved artifacts. I have been able to point out some twenty such objects, twelve figures and another eight objects of unknown use or manufacture, but clearly not what one expects from naturally carved stone. When, therefore, might we expect NASA, in defference to the idea that the citizenry is not totally brain dead, begin to examine some of these phenomena more closely and honestly. I have studiously downloaded every photo NASA has published on its website and have noticed one thing that is incredibly suspiscious. The quality of the photography as the rovers have come closer to their various areas of interest, in those areas where there have been noted "anomolous" objects, has become increasingly poor with resolution diminishing continuously.  We must raise our voices and demand NASA release the high resolution photos of these interesting areas that we all must know they have. Have the Men In Black put the scotch on this?
