Considered one of the greatest Voice/Vocal Specialists/Re-constructionists in the world today by many, she is also one of the most controversial figures in the field Vocal Pedagogy.
She does not fit the mold - She does not go by the way of the standard, which has destroyed the true Art of Singing/Bel Canto. She carves out her own, extraordinary reputation by teaching worldwide and reconstructing desperate and problematic voices.
Her approach is completely different and totally unique from other Voice teachers- though many try unsuccessfully to copy her style and methodology. The conventional 'speech level singing' is abhorred by her and challenged in every way.
Her technology of 'Giro-Vocal Motion Technique' dates back to the time of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and is basically the coveted vocal technique of the Levities, the chosen singers of the Temple, by G-d Himself.
She does not sing, she refuses to allow teachers she trains to sing - "the instrument of the singer must be his own without any influences which might be induced or transmitted by the teacher. The individual voice is precious and nothing and no one must influence its natural course."
That is the most important reason she has the possibility of teaching ultra orthodox Cantors and Rabbis -
"No compromises!!!"
She has no competition in the world. Since she is the originator of this work in modern times and teaches it successfully to her students, be they singers, teachers, speakers, handicapped or vocally destroyed instruments, her students and followers receive the original, non-watered down version of the 'real thing'and results are virtually guaranteed and stunning.
Miriam Jaskierowicz Arman has challenged the world of Vocal Pedagogy - she has openly vowed to go anywhere, at any time to prove, that her work will reconstruct and make healthy the most damaged and virtually lost voices.
Her books (4) detail the work and her new Master-class from Bern, Switzerland in 2010 on YOU Tube (23 segments, to be watched following each other, or not at all) demonstrate her power and commitment to her mission.
Whether she works in Italian, English, German or Hebrew, her message is clear - the instrument comes first - always. Her approach is not subtle. She has taken up the banner and has put her thirty years of experience on the line to achieve her goal - Voices that are able to attain their utmost potential in any genre of music, without damaging the instrument in any way and allowing beautiful singing/speaking and tone to once again dominate the world scene of music.
THE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF VOICE in Tzfat (Tzfat), Israel, will create an International Voice Center dedicated to the advancement of GVMT (Giro-Vocal-Motion-Technique) and a meeting and learning environment for singers, teachers, speech pathologists and therapists in which "Giro-Vocal' Motion Technique will be taught.
The Academy is due to open it's doors in the Spring of 2011 and will host it's first semester of students in July/August 2011( exact dates will be available by Jan. 15th 2011).
