In the literary mystery I've just finished writing and am now revising, a manuscript is found which may be an undiscovered manuscript by Dickens. The characters have reason to believe the manuscript is authentic to the late 1860s. It is bound in red morocco and looks like the bound manuscript of A CHRISTMAS CAROL now in the Morgan Library in New York. The handwriting is not Dickens', but the characters assume he had someone else make the final copy.
My question: if such a manuscript of an unknown and unpublished Dickens novel existed, what would it be worth?
