One of the most satisfying experiences your child can have is to be able to say, as you open up your presents during the Holiday Season, is "Surprise, I did it myself!" For more than two decades, the Holiday Gift Shop program has given children this satisfying experience by helping them do their own Holiday Shopping.

How? By supplying schools with one of the most unique service and fund-raising programs ever developed. With help from volunteer workers, students learn valuable lessons on how to budget, select appropriate gifts, make purchases and handle money in the warm and comfortable atmosphere of the school. They are able to choose gifts for their parents, family, friends, pets, and or course themselves, at bargain prices and SECRETLY! Best of all, it's so much fun they don't realize they are learning!

HOW IT WORKS:

Fun Services provides all the planning and promotional materials, supplies and QUALITY MERCHANDISE. All the school has to do is arrange for a few workers for the three to five days the "Shop" is usually open. The gift merchandise is provided on CONSIGNMENT and the supplies are provided FREE. You pay only for the merchandise not returned to Fun Services at the end of the program. You can choose to make the profit margin you want, from 10% to 30% or more, depending on your needs. Fun Services delivers and picks-up at no charge, or pays the freight charges both ways. There is NO RESTOCKING FEE on returned merchandise.

In most schools, HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP is held during school hours so each child has an equal opportunity to participate if he or she wants. It is easier to run if the children are allowed to shop one classroom at a time. However, HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP can be held before or after school, during math time, during lunch, during PE or Library time, during each student's free time or on Saturday. Some schools add an evening session for parents as well.

Operating a HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP Program is an excellent SERVICE PROJECT for the school to perform for its community! If your school is limited in the number of fund-riasers it can hold each year, holding HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP as a SERVICE PROJECT is an excellent alternative, especially if Fun Services TEACHER RESOURCE BOOK is used as well.
