ASSOCIATE PERFORMANCE ASSSESSMENT

Over 80% of dental associateships to partnerships fail. The financial loss from these failures is significant. But as important, the emotional, staff, professional and market damage is even greater. There are numbers of reasons why these relationships fail, but the biggest reason is the lack of communication.

This survey is designed to assess the performance of associates by the dentist-owner and key staff people. The resultant Report of Findings reveals specifically where the associate is succeeding, failing or underperforming. The report is then reviewed with the associate and the dentist-owner, requiring both parties to confront any issues or problems that are uncovered, and to authentically look at what needs to be done to get the associate's performance back on track.

We recommend the survey be done 90 days after the associate joins the practice and then every six months.

Often there are key staff people whose view is highly valued. A practice is allowed to include up to three of these individuals in this review so the dentist-owner can have their feedback as well.

Given the dynamic and potential harmful nature of the resultant information, THE MASTERY COMPANY will not produce an automated Report of Findings for this survey. We will only offer a facilitated report. Although the cost is somewhat higher for this form of report, given the potential damage in cost, time and well being - the dentist really needs to fully understand how to address the issues that are revealed and so, facilitation is required.
