South Carolina Artist & Teacher

One Of South Carolina's Finest
This Gallery is dedicated to the memory of the late Oscar Pinckney Wetherington (1921-1997) artist and teacher. Savannah Georgia born Orangeburg South Carolina raised. It was once said by a friend that he was Orangeburg's best kept secret. He worked and taught in watercolor, oil, and acrylic. His work spanned 60 years with beautiful renderings of the Carolina Lowcountry. His most seen, but often unrecognized work,is the Fighting Gamecock Emblem he designed for the University of South Carolina in 1965. View the works of A true artist that gave his life to his art and shared his talent with others.

Please Enjoy The Tour Of Our Gallery
The Iris Giclee reproductions vary in size, so they will vary in price as well. The descriptions and the suggested retail prices are inside.

Our goal is to enable everyone to enjoy the art works of a truly gifted artist that was one of South Carolina's own. Browse the Iris Giclee reproductions and see the artistry that Oscar Wetherington brought to his work and influenced the work of others.
It is our hope to increase this gallery to as many of his works that I have at my disposal. We also would like to add the art works of his students,to show not only his artistry but his ability to teach and articulate.
