On June 23, 2008, a letter was sent to all school districts, including charter schools, announcing a survey of school district readiness for online testing that will need to be completed by September 1, 2008. This survey is required under Texas Education Code 39.0234(b) and is designed to assess the ability of school districts to administer state required assessments by computer. The survey questions cover school district and campus technology infrastructure as well as technology and assessment staffing and training needs. Participation in this survey is mandatory for all Texas school districts and charters.
The survey is located at www.TexasAssessment.com/survey/.
To respond to the survey, it is recommended that you assemble a team of staff knowledgeable about state testing and the technology requirements for a district to participate in online testing as well as staff that can adequately assess school district financial expenditures related to online testing of state required assessments.
If you have any questions, contact Pearson at 800-252-9186.
