On the Panel In September 2006, Derek served as a panelist at the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas to discuss the role of courts and judges.  Serving with him (from left) were Eric Rosen, justice of the Kansas Supreme Court; Steve McAllister, former dean of the KU School of Law; Deanell Tacha, chief judge of the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals; and Kris Kobach, law professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
