Did you know that Texas A&M has a collie as a mascot?  The school recently contacted the Collie Club of America for assistance in finding a replacement for Reveille VII.  These are her duties:

She lives with a sophomore military cadet in his dorm and attends classes with him.

She has the ranks and privileges of a General—all cadets and officers are required to salute her and address her as “Miss Reveille Ma’am.”

If she decides to sleep on the cadet’s bed, he must sleep on the floor.

If she wants to sit in a particular seat in class, that seat must be made available for her.

And, if she barks in class, class is dismissed.  J  Would make you want to teach her to bark on command (LOL)

Reveille VIII (formerly known as Kelly) was donated by a Kansas breeder with the understanding that the school would make a donation to the Collie Health Foundation. Click on the link below for the story:

(Thanks to Joan Sciauldone for the information on duties she obtained from a former boss, a Texas A&M Alumnus.)

September is a busy month for Collie Rescue appearances. On the 14th, we will be in 3 states; Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts.  Please go to "Calendar" on the side-bar for details.

There is a warning about a dog toy, the Pimple Ball, manufactured by Four Paws, Inc.  It seems dogs have gotten tongues stuck in the ball. Please go to http://www.thechais tory.blogspot. com/ for the sad story.
