Hi,
Glad to hear you found a pup and are happy.
I myself worked in animal rescue, and saw first hand what happens if the "hoops" aren't followed. The dogs end up back in rescue, sometimes with issues (separation anxiety, etc.) that they may not have had when adopted out. Good rescuers, no matter what breed of dogs they rescue, (especially those rescues that are foster homes as opposed to shelters, as fosters really know the animal that lives with them), are only looking out for the best interest of the animal. Sometimes that means not adopting out to a home, an animal that the rescuers just don't feel will be good for the home. It doesn't mean that a family is not a good family; it just means that a particular dog is maybe not the right one for their home. The rescuers work hard, dedicating their lives to finding the right ‘forever home’ for a pet. They take these animals under their wings and protect them, until they feel that an appropriate home is found. This can sometimes take a long time.
Also, home visits are a MUST with most reputable groups, for the safety and welfare of the animal.
