Free Legal Research
When you have a legal problem or question pertaining to building or development, simply call 1-800-368-5242, ext. 491 and speak to a member of the legal research team. NAHB’s attorneys will research your legal issue using state-of-the-art resources, including a computerized legal database and access to nationally recognized legal research libraries. They will then provide you with a written summary of any related federal or state laws, citations to legal case precedents from courts throughout the country, as well as a wealth of other background information.
NAHB tailors the summary to your needs —– whether you’re in a big city or a small town —– and provides it in a clear and understandable way. You can then take the written response to your local counsel who will explain how it applies in that particular case.
NAHB also has a library of informative articles on issues of common interest to NAHB members that are available for the asking. If you’re an NAHB member or a member’s attorney, just call NAHB with your needs. Even if you don’t have a specific problem, but would like to learn more about issues that affect the building industry as a whole, NAHB Legal Research can be of assistance.
Take advantage of this member benefit by calling 1-800-368-5242, ext.491
