14 POUNDER TYPEII JAMES RIFLE WAS MADE IN CHICOPEE, MASS. THE CANNON WAS A SMOOTHBORE. AT THE START OF THE WAR, BOTH SIDES RIFLED THE BORE FOR BETTER ACCURACY. THIS CANNON CARRIES THE MARKINGS OF ONE AT STONES RIVER BATTLEFIELD PARK. IT'S GREENISH COLOR REFLECTS A BRONZE CANNON IN THE FIELD. AFTER 145 YEARS.
