Napoleon, M1857

This bronze 12-pounder field gun was developed in France in the 1850s and named for Emperor Napoleon III. Considered the workhorse of Civil War artillery for its versatility it was designed to fire shot, shell, case shot and canister. Our recreation is of the Federal version of the gun, which has a distinctive muzzle swell. This cannon has all the correct muzzle makers marks, as do all the cannons we make.
