Stan Taubman, PhD, LCSW
Director, Berkeley Training Associates
OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
Consultation and training are provided to improve Behavioral Health and Social Services' level of compliance with quality standards and third party payor regulations, with a high degree of clinical effectiveness and documentation efficiency. Staff learn to use assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and progress monitoring as elements of evidence based practice, consistent with the findings of scientific studies of outcome effectiveness.
Staff are also trained with regard to sound principles of clinical decision making and accountability, as well as validation of case formulations, differential diagnosis and medical necessity.
All material is presented in a manner which enhances participants' ability to effectively implement the clinical documentation policies, procedures, and standards of each specific host organization. Special attention is given to cultural competence, clinical effectiveness and efficiency, and evidence based practices.
METHOD
BTA's in-service training programs are uniquely designed to address each host organization's unique needs and preferences.
Consultation is also available to key administrators to assist in the development of related policies, procedures, and clinical documentation formats, and to assist in the practical, on the job application of principles taught in the workshops.
