Hey George, Good Question... I don't like them, but that's my opinion. I was impressed to see that on the Zacharias bouzoukia that Pavlo carries, the adjustmnet is at the headstock. This way you can adjust the neck anytime, without having to loosen the strings and remove the pickup. But still I believe in going without; I don't like anything that adds weight to the neck end of the zouk. We all know that bouzoukia are delicate and have an unusually long neck. But, when the weather causes any change in my instruments, I can temporarily raise the action by adding a KAPLAMA(thin strip of ebony veneer) under the bridge, and then lower it by taking it out. Another thing I have heard is that sometimes the frets start to pop out from adjusting it too much. ANd most important of all , I have never seen a bouzouki with a truss rod that had a straight neck.......I'll look forward to the other opinions.
