VISA WAIVERS
The Visa Waiver Pilot Program (VWPP) was enacted in 1986 and allows foreign nationals from qualifying countries to be admitted to the U.S. for 90 days or less for business or pleasure without obtaining a visa. This allows emergency or spontaneous travel for tourists and people wishing to conduct business to enter the country unless they deemed inadmissible. A person admitted under the waiver program cannot change status while in the United States
To qualify, an applicant must:
- Have the Intent to remain in the Unite States for 90 days or less;
- Have a passport that was lawfully issued by a qualifying country and valid for six months after the intended visit;
- Arrive with a signed agreement from the transportation carrier to remove the applicant from the United States if that applicant is found to be inadmissible or deportable;
- Have a ticket to leave the United States and to return to a foreign destination other than a territory bordering on the United States (unless you are a resident there);
- Complete and submit Form I-94W, Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver Arrival/Departure Form to the Immigration Inspector;
- Not present a safety threat to the U.S. or have any prior violation of Unite States. admission policies;
- Waive any rights to review or appeal an immigration

Necessary Documentation
- An applicant must demonstrate that you are a citizen of a qualifying county
- An applicant must present a signed VWPP agreement from a commercial airline agreeing to remove the applicant from the United States if that applicant is found to be inadmissible or deportable (a list of participating carriers is maintained at the INS' National Fines Office located at 1400 Wilson Blvd. Suite 210 Arlington, VA 22209, Tele. For Mexican and Canadian Citizens arriving at land based ports of entry, the document requirements are largely the same except there is no requirement for round-trip tickets or agreements from commercial carrier to remove the applicant. However, an applicant must demonstrate to the inspecting officer that he/she has sufficient funds for support during the temporary stay and to leave the United States after the stay.
